As the grooves unfold, the mix traverses spectral landscapes, building towards a deeply rooted finale—a 16th-century hymn from Assam, Northeast India introduced by the resonant pulse of drums echoing from community prayer halls of rural Assam. This closing moment is both grounding and transcendent, a bridge between the temporal and the eternal.

Part 2 of Insect Orchestra's 3-hour mix plunges into the surreal and the cyclical, where soundscapes and cinema collide to create a disorienting, mind-expanding journey.

It begins with the trailer of the film Churuli (released 2021) by Lijo Jose Pellissery, introducing the haunting concept of a spiral—both literal and metaphorical. The village of Churuli itself is an infinite, winding loop, reflecting the film's descent into madness.

The first track, Derango's "We Are All Mad Here" , amplifies this theme with an audio sample from the film - "The Shining" (released 1980): "It was as though I had been here before. We all have moments of déjà vu, but this was ridiculous."

This sense of déjà vu connects perfectly to Churuli’s endless spiral, where time and reality collapse, leaving one trapped in an infinite loop of unsettling familiarity. The Shining itself is a haunting exploration of isolation and madness, where supernatural forces drive a descent into psychological horror—an ideal parallel to the spiraling disarray in Churuli.

As the mix progresses, it mimics the escalating unease of crossing into unknown dimensions, blending twisted psychedelic sounds with unsettling energy. Part 2 builds to a climax with the famous jeep scene from Churuli, where the undercover policemen cross the rickety wooden bridge into the heart of the spiral. The once-polite co-passengers morph into aggressive, foul-mouthed strangers, revealing that the deeper one ventures into the spiral, the more reality distorts.

Part 2 of Insect Orchestra's mix captures the inescapable pull of the spiral—both a map and a metaphor for losing oneself in the infinite. Are we moving forward, or are we trapped in an eternal loop? The answer lies ahead, in the madness of Part 3 (to be uploaded soon!!)
