This month's Skylab show was the first episode me and Patrin have been able to record back to back since April. In celebration of the new The Trilogy Tapes clothing arriving in the shop this week last night we took a couple of our TTT collections down in to the basement and went one for one for a couple of hours. You won't find too much mixing here, we were pretty loose when we did it so there will be imperfections but we reckon that it doesn't really matter when the music is this good. We could have gone on for hours but we still haven't paid for a premium Soundcloud account and we have managed to squeeze it in just under our limit. Wrap you lugholes around this.

Collectedly on its way to its fifth anniversary, the Bamboo Shows guestmix series changes design today!
As we started writing short stories along with the mixes, we felt that it had also become necessary to illustrate them and free ourselves from the awesome artworks Johann Bonnefoy made for us back in 2019.

So, here we start with our 71st guestmix and Seoul-based Salamanda, composed of Uman Therma (Sala) & Yetsuby (Manda). Pretty well known from the leftfield ambient scene thanks to various self-releases and appearances on Good Morning Tapes, Sounds of Ogigia, Public Possession, the Korean-duo also contributed to our Vapordub compilation earlier this year with the wondrous and aptly named ‘Bubble Bamboo Princess’. 

Through this peaceful ballad in the whimsical land of Quitonia, Salamanda delivers the message that every sound has beauty. Whether ancient or newly published, traditional or uncanny, epic or calm. A blissful quest delving into neo-classical acts, spiritual ambient, otherworldly new-age and psychedelia. Keep your senses alert all through the ride, for there is so much to feel, hear and see.

Vaporized Thoughts

A sound work by Sakat that emerges from direct contact with electrical current, not as a tool, but as a field of hidden structures. What appears as a simple flow of energy reveals layered worlds within it, micro-patterns nested inside one another, unfolding beyond human intention.

Through a self-made contact microphone, electricity becomes audible as more than noise or signal. Within feedback, interference, and instability, smaller systems speak from inside larger ones. The work follows these internal architectures rather than imposing form upon them.

During the process, control dissolves. The body no longer acts as a creator, but as a conductor, a passage through which unseen orders briefly surface. In this moment of exposure, authorship weakens and listening takes precedence.

This piece reflects on the idea that creation does not always originate from will. Even within a current measured and mapped by science, there exist concealed worlds, where creation repeats itself at ever smaller scales, waiting not to be designed, but to be revealed.

A Lesson in Conduction (Live Exposure)

This is a compilation of dark noisy ambient pieces, made with care on tape using old modded cassette recorders, it contains sounds made with my synths, AM/FM broadcast noise in addition to selected,worped and distored samples of my own music.

Computers have only been used to process the recordings and edit/export to audio standards.
