"The mix begins not on the turntables, not in the record crate, or the project file. It begins
when i catch an idea, maybe while reading or cooking a meal or drinking a cup of coffee. I
will think of the songs in my mind and it usually starts with a block of two or three songs. 
From those primary ideas, i will formulate a direction or mood that i'm trying to convey.
To me, a mix is a short story, and i may rearrange the story many times before i feel
like what needs to be said is said in the clearest way possible. This mix started from
what i recalled of the landscape of the coastal Pacific Northwest while listening to the
space and phrasing in Grouper's song 'Kelso.' That led me to where i was when i recorded
the parts to be used in the track 'Chetzemoka.' From there, all the ideas began to come in. I pulled tracks from my hard drive into the project and the puzzle pieces began to fit. Much of
what became this mix are tracks that really excited and inspired me over the past year. I truly appreciate the opportunity to be able create a story for Beyond/Below and hope that you, as the listener, enjoy this tale."

Daydreaming in Eora.

Theory Therapy 36 is an hour of introspective ambient by Sydney/Eora’s Mia Landy. We’re such a big fan of the handful of mixes Mia has done so far—especially the isolation mix they put up on their soundcloud last year—that we had to ask her to contribute to the series. 

Their Theory Therapy mix, like their other recordings, is completely absorbing. It has an almost dreamlike quality to it. Voices bubble just below the surface, songs drift off in unexpected directions and there’s a kind of warm analog crackle throughout that makes it feel vaguely lo-fi and slightly nostalgic.
