The origin of this particular track can be traced back to 1992, when similar song was rejected by my then-band (A Herd Of The Rushing Vises) in which I played on a bass guitar. The lyrics of this song expressed our hidden intentions to leave our hometown in which we grew up for good. At that time, we really wanted to escape from the small-town mentality of our local community, where everyone knew almost everything about everyone else. Back then, we were under the irresistible impression that this place was slowly (but surely) killing our dreams and ambitions. 30 years later: my hometown has become a foggy and unrealistically distant dreamland. However, I still miss the atmosphere of this small town and all those incredible people who knew me so well.

The roots of this song go back to the summer of 1993. My then-band (A Herd Of The Rushing Vises) suddenly changed its trajectory to the less ambitious and more financially profitable path of being a cover band, diving into the deep water of inexistence. As you go through life, you can either "have" or "be" and I have always been a proponent of the latter option. Transferred beyond the parenthesis of secondary performances, I was drowning in a swamp of absurdity full of speculations. At that moment my whole world collapsed as I lost old friends, a fanbase, and a musical platform to express my own feelings. I became irrelevant, unable to make a stand on the Polish Rock Scene. Let's raise a toast to this marginal footnote in the Great Book of Gothism... Enjoy!

Hanging Graveyard is a Northern Irish-American gothic metal band co-founded in 2024 by two brothers: Michael Walczak (guitars, percussion, samplers, backing vocals) and Kamil Walczak (lyrics, vocals, guitars, bass, piano, drums, programming). Although they grew up in the same household, their paths diverged in the mid-2000s when they both decided to leave their homeland (Poland) in search of new opportunities to pursue their dreams. Their family band burst into existence as a result of their fascination with downbeat music on the verge of gothic rock and gothic metal. Since the very beginning, the band has been associated with the Metronome School of Music and Recording Studio in New York City. So far, they released 2 full-length studio albums: "Bloody Rituals" (June 2025) and "Ytic Eht Ni Msihtog" (October 2025).
