CSQ: Tell us a bit about your local techno scene. How has it shaped you as an artist?

NEW HEDONISM: The local scene is way too "bright" as it is everywhere else, I guess. I used to party in raves and clubs; now I'm looking for a limited quantity of people parties where there are only a few lights and no fame. On the other side, there are absolutely great parties on the German side of Switzerland, and I think we need to learn about the theme here in Geneva. I want to contribute (on my own and with DERESTRICT) to develop this dark, illegal, and sweaty vibe here.

CSQ: Would you like to share anything with the listeners about the set?

NEW HEDONISM: No need to mention anything except it's raw, aggressive and melancholic.

CSQ: How does the set reflect the development of your style and your DJing since you started?

NEW HEDONISM: People can clearly notice the path I have taken for almost two years now. I love it fast, Industrial & reaaaally energic. A lot of inspiration from the Eastern European scene.

Fueled by a love for dark atmospheres, powerful kicks, speed, and energy, his performances feature tracks from artists like 6ejou, Ørgie, Infeed, Toxic Machinery, and BSLS.

BIO:
SQCOS, a Stuttgart-based producer hailing from Germany, has been entrenched in the electronic music scene since 1996. With a versatile repertoire spanning techno, drum and bass, and electronic genres, he seamlessly navigates between vinyl and digital mediums. Notably, he holds a residency at Subland Club in Berlin. His early immersion in music led him to master the drums, contributing his skills to various bands. However, it was the burgeoning electronic music scene of the late '90s that truly ignited his passion. Embracing the electrifying energy of rave culture, SQCOS gravitated towards breakbeats and techno, carving his niche in the vibrant landscape.

HALKA, originated in South Africa and currently resides in London, started out in the deep and minimal sounds of electronic music. After a while of experimentation, he found his taste in music building up to the faster sounds. The sounds that strip the norms of electronic music and society as a whole into the pure rawness that they exist as. he is no stranger to the industrial scene and is eager to make it more than it is and what it deserves in his home town, South Africa. HALKA encourages us to release and roam as we are. One. Together we make a change. So let’s go.
