In this interview Mariel talks about some of the treatment that she's faced (from both music industry insiders and from other artists).  She also talks about the backlash she faced when she chose to speak about it publicly. Thankfully, Mariel has endured and has just released her first solo album "Make Me Smile" under the name Best Ex--which is arguably the best record of her career! You feel so empty the next day, but the texts start coming in.... you found my car WHERE?! Wait, why do I owe you an apology - who are you? But it hurts to think. Then you look at what you posted on YouTube, and it's like, wha?...  So you don't remove it, as a reminder to yourself not to repeat the same mistakes, as if THAT ever works. I have a neighbor who argues with my heater. They communicate in knocking noises. The heater always starts it. I rent, and I'm pretty sure the neighbor figured out it's the heater, so there isn't much I care to do about it. But every time I'm worried I might be going insane, I just talk to one of my friends and family bundle, and then I usually realize I'm still at least somewhat more aware of external stimuli as they are, so that's the main thing that keeps me talking to people. I was blowing dandelion seeds, and my friend asked what I wished for. I said I wished my neighbors' lawns had as many weeds as mine! It's important to have realistic dreams.

This shit more crazier by the track. The growth with the music is real; I've exceeded 10k hours some time ago. Like I said before, I move the goal post often because pushing ourselves to learn and try more things helps us find out that there's a hell of a lot more that we're capable of and can do. 

Keep pushing and keep doing shit. If you're unsure of something, do it and get sure about it. If you're scared to do something, do that shit scared and show yourselves that shit ain't so scary after all. No matter what, do that shit. You'll find your way and get great or greater with consistency.

Anyway, this another joint by me and my brother Lakami. Yall gon love it. It's fun and full of bars per usual. Perfect for reflecting on valentines day in ya real relationship or that lil toxic fling that lasts bout long as a netflix trial (them shits be fun as hell hahaha).
