Remember when you would walk into a record shop and the person behind the counter would pick out all the 12s they thought you would like from the racks behind them? Then before you went off to listen to them and if you were a regular they would reach beneath the counter picking up one last record for your pile. That last record was always a white label and was normally the naughtiest of bootlegs that wouldnt leave your record box.
