Known for his intricate melodic work and textured atmospheres, Augusto has already made his mark with respected imprints such as Mango Alley, One Of A Kind, and Sunexplosion. Following their excellent Urgent Turquoise release for Om Recordings, the eclectic and ambitious San Francisco duo Tone of Arc have contributed their evocative sound to Roam Recordings’ second offering of 2016. Tone of Arc are comprised of Derrick Boyd (previously recording under the name Dead Seal) and Zoe Presnick … through well-received releases for the likes of No. 19 Music, Om Records, and Touch Of Class Records the pair have transmitted a series of moody electronic compositions that draw as much inspiration from cerebral post-punk gigs as sweaty, visceral dance floors. 

“Sundust” opens the single with its methodical tempo and haunting soundscapes, electrified by Derrick’s pensive words. The cut unfolds like a dream as layers of synths and vocal snippets build and vibrate throughout. “The Indigent” is a more stripped-down affair. A straight-forward four-on-the-floor rhythm, accented by big tom fills, creates the space for backwards pads and hinted melodies. It’s a mechanical meditation. Barcelona-based producer Lokier (HAKT, Days Of Being Wild) is also on hand for a haunting remix of “Sundust” that adds a commanding bass line and puts a spotlight on the vocal. Its steady forward motion is hypnotic in effect, intensifying the brain-to-feet aspect of Tone of Arc’s music.

Sean Johnston returns to @throneofblood this month with a new 12" under his @hardwaybros alias! Best known as one half of legendary DJ team A Love From Outer Space alongside Andrew Weatherall, he's also released music on labels like Flashcomm and Sabres of Paradise.

We're premiering Throne of Blood label manager Max Pask's remix of 'Friedman Feedback Loop Revision' (the title itself a nod to label boss James Friedman's "highly-valued opinions"). Pask brings his love for all thing analog and Italo to the table, transforming the original into an epic set-closer.

Mijo is spearheading the new wave of DJ/Producers heading out from Mexico, Local Suicide are the club regulars with Berlin nights like TOFU and Voyage Voyage.  As well as this, Dina and Max have released tracks with Rodion and released on My Favourite Robot Records with Abu Dhabi, one of the finest tracks of the year. 
Mijo and Local Suicide have come together and in doing so they concocted beats, bleeps and general shenanigans to create a quirky breaky track with a beatbox style cut up vocal which in spite of its playful nature has claws which could sever a spinal column if required, so beware when you get to the speakers, this is sharper than a hypodermic needle fresh from a bag,  it's going to tattoo your eardrums and make your soul dance until it's feet bleed or fall off. In a good way, obviously.
