"In Defence Of" is a review series where i look at albums that have received negative reception and i take a gander of the positives and bright lights of the album. In this review i looked at the final album from Prog Rock Pioneers Genesis with their final album "Calling All Stations" released in 1997 with Stiltskin vocalist Ray Wilson providing the vocals after the 1995 departure of second Genesis vocalist and drummer Phil Collins. Wilson's vocals are eerily similar akin to first Genesis vocalist Peter Gabriel as I believe Tony Banks and Mike Rutherford was gunning for his return after Collins' departure.
Yet this album received negative reviews from long time fans of both Gabriel and Collins era Genesis as i believe that they just weren't a fan of change.

Today, I look at Invisible Touch which is the thirteenth studio album by British prog rock trio Genesis. Invisible Touch was the final piece of the puzzle for the much loved band, becoming a power pop dynamo and being shed of their progressive rock roots as shown in the seventies when Genesis was fronted by Peter Gabriel and Steve Hackett on the guitar.

Today, I look at Deftones' third album, White Pony which received critical acclaim from rock critics and Deftones fans alike. White Pony seemed to be like a departure from the band's Nu Metal roots as other bands did the same in later years such as Linkin Park, Slipknot, Mudvayne and so on and so forth.
