Having served up some of the finest techno slabs of the past decade through the likes of Sandwell District, Stroboscopic Artefacts and now their own dedicated imprint, Eaux, Rrose steps in the series with a bonkers mix of dusty techno hustle-and-bustle, neatly alternating sequences of pumping 4x4 aerobatics, searing, noise-adjacent outbursts and eerie melodies to hypnotic effect. A constant balancing act of raw power and haunting score, Rrose’s RYC mix takes us on a deep and fascinating trip into genre-unbound territories, where only abandon and wildness reign supreme. Few artists can match the influence that Enrique Mena, AKA Svreca, and his label Semantica have had on contemporary techno. With over 20 years in the DJ booth, 200-plus releases on the label and some acclaimed original productions and remixes, Svreca has spearheaded techno’s second generation, helping maintain Madrid as an international hub for deep and driving sounds. 

As a DJ, Svreca draws from a wide sonic palette that includes noise, dub, avant-garde electronics, electro and, of course, techno. First, it was luminaries like Angel Molina and Oscar Mulero that inspired him; since then he has made it his mission to survey the scene and connect with its most original artists. He funnels these influences into a powerful techno sound for body and mind: immersive, textural and rhythmically complex. Whether in an open-air festival setting or a blistering, pitch-back basement, Svreca’s sets—always delivered with technical precision—are a psychedelic, physical experience. 

His sets are also inextricably linked to Semantica. It’s a two way relationship: the label has become a consistently excellent breeding ground for new talent, as well as home to some of techno’s finest artists. Equally, Svreca draws inspiration from shared moments on a dance floor to fuel the label’s creative direction. From its austere aesthetic (designed by Mena himself) to its boundless exploration of new formats, Semantica encapsulates the heady spirit of experimental techno. 

Across all Svreca's means of expression, one thing is a constant: the music comes first. Less talking, more doing. It’s a formula he has stood by, and delivered the quality of music needed to back it up.

True to their deep, widescreen approach to both production and live-performing, Parisian outfit Atomic Moog clock in with a helluva sleek and lushly relief’d mix, recorded on the occasion of their latest live performance at Outre Bleu on March 29. Through their releases for the likes of Delsin, Appian, Lowless or Monument, the French duo has been carving a niche for itself at the fringes of the dubbed-out techno tradition and abstract-leaning experimentality. This 90 minutes jaunt into their reverb and delay-heavy imaginarium has us moving across narrow corridors and cathedral-large spaces by turn, exploring the concept of spatialization in dance music under a new, boundary-pushing light. Through focal-shifting jumps between acid-drenched beds of rippling analogue sine waves and sizzling machine circuitry, the constant angle shifts from macro to micro tell a tale of vibrant sound research, not quite picking a side between the dance floor’s sense of purpose and genre-unbound, creative unintentionality.

Recorded in Berlin with a Xone 96, with Function’s signature sound design woven throughout, the mix bridges heavyweight classics and future-shaping material. Kicking off with Nastia Reigel’s massive new remix of his own Disaffected, it showcases three tracks from her upcoming debut album Identity (out September 26 on Infrastructure).

The selection runs wide: from Regis, Rødhâd, LSD, Nørbak, Nastia Reigel, Ignez, Rene Wise, Silent Servant, Alarico and UFO95 to unreleased gems by Filippo Scorcucchi - alongside Function’s own productions, edits and textures. The result is a hypnotic, high-pressure session built for the club’s inner core, designed for maximum immersion and intensity.

As a prelude to the release of the live recording of 2025, we are pleased to share it with you. We hope you enjoy this solid techno set, filled with pure techno pleasure in every direction.

All in layered atmospheric finesse, streamlined rhythmic architecture and nimble transitions, Mareena's mix vouches for her impeccable mixing skillset and pristine curation. Blending hi-impact, big room-focussed wares and clever detours into further experimental-leaning territories, the German artist captures a compelling snapshot of her current musical headspace, combining the finest of hi-tech dubs with vanguard electronics and stripped-down floor destroyers bound to wreak havoc all the way from the basement to the rooftop. From his past as architect, Kangding Ray kept a multidisciplinary approach to art, applying his craft in diverse artistic fields such as visual arts, film scores, audiovisual installations and dance performances.
