The eternal city of Varanasi is one of the most sought after pilgrimage sites in the Hindu tradition. Enshrined here are Kashi Vishvanatha and Mata Annapurnesvari. Annapurani - the provider of food and nourishment for the entire Universe - and the bestower of knowledge (of the self, the Universe and Ishvara). Here is a 9th century verse in sanskrit by Adi Sankara in praise of Annapurani - that I tuned in 2001 - recorded the background score in 2002. We have performed it numerous times as a choir. Nityanandakari

Recording of the then hit Illaiyaraja song 'Vellaippura Ondru' at IIT Madras back in the 80s. I sang it - with orchestral accompaniment by our band. Great memories. With Dilip Panicker, Subba Vaidyanathan and others.
