Sounds of Darağaç, Vol. 2 is a concept album and a collaboration between Izmir’s infamous Darağaç collective and Kanto Records. Throughout 2022 on several occasions residents of Kanto Records have visited Umurbey neighborhood, the official location of Darağaç, for recording and archiving the unique industrial textures created by car repair shops and artist workshops of various kinds that characterize the neighborhood and the collective. This archive has been edited meticulously and creatively manipulated for music production within the disciplines of these individual artists, eventually compiled into this special piece of electronic music album created with, by, from and for Darağaç. Different prints that are either emotional shadows, abstract sound drawings and synthesized imitations; or literal sound recordings appearing daily in the streets: drums, atmospheres, reverbs and conversations.
