The vocals for this song were recorded on October 30, 2002. At some point during the session, we got the news that Jam Master Jay had been killed that night. I always felt a bit weird about that as I mention how "...I could give a fuck about Adidas..." in the song, as well as some other things that i say within the song. The song was kinda me examining and exaggerating on how I felt about my place within the Hip Hop culture after I was married with kids for a bit, and just kinda generally feeling like an outsider.
