The Swindlers return and not a minute too soon as far as we’re
concerned!  The hardest working duo in house music have had a
mental couple of years playing every club and festival known to
man, having babies, seemingly buying up the entire stock of vintage
studio gear off ebay and thankfully knocking out some banging tunes
on top of all that.  Well all club bangers gratefully received here
at Freerange so with open arms and ears we’re happy to be bringing
you the Figure Of Speech EP.
Just as the non-believers think they know what to expect from these two they’ve thrown a rather large curveball and headed down a different road. Figure Of Speech wears some African influences on its sleeve with a bumping party groove punctuated by some nifty
afro beat keys stabs and just a hint of acid. Victoria’s Secret
treads more familiar Detroit Swindle territory with the boys trademark shuffling beats and larger-than-life side-chained pads bringing the drama. Finally, we have suitably titled Live At The Cosmic Carnival where we’re treated to some peaktime tribal business with rolling bass, dubbed out dancehall science and some nifty conga work. All in all, some fiyah for the dancefloor from a pair of lads who know a thing or two about how to get a room jumping.

WOLF return & welcome their latest recruit Thrilogy to the pack. He first debuted on the label with the pumping 'Artic', but this is his first full EP on the label. 

The EP opens with 'Heaven', a gospel vocal, piano-laden house beauty. Think classic soulful house with a whole heap of church up in the mix. The EPs second track 'Hold Me In Your Arms', with its long breakdown, has Summer festivals written all over it. We can't wait to play this one in Croatia! On the flip, another newcomer, K.98, takes 'Heaven' up a notch and turns it into serious peak time territory.

Name kicks off his 'Side Effects EP' with the
title track, a deep chugging workout that wouldn't have been out of place on Jamie Thinness' seminal deephouse label Season back in the 90s. There's more classy deephouse on offer with 'Clos Des Trams', a lush affair based on a deceptively simple bassline and samplework that would do St. Germain proud.
Flip over for 'Nobody', a fine slice of moody basement beatdown, and finally 'Vibraphone Bowed', a peaktime stomper with Todd Terry-esque beats and Kevin Yost-like xylophone lines.
