After 1 good year of hiatus, Room With A View is back in full effect with a very special 3 tracker by Kyodai, a duo that has been gathering serious momentum after highly celebrated releases on Local Talk, Exploited, Freerange or Pokerflat to name a few.

The famous brother pair has proven to be working hard in the last years recording, remixing & touring extensively. Reknown for their energitic live performances & to have deliver tracks & remixes that have been played by the Who's who of the global House scene, Kyodai have decided to choose RWAV to deliver some very personal tracks. In 2013 already, they appeared on our label with the uplifting "What You Give" that became on of the key tracks of the live sets of the last 2 years.

Enjoying a long 15 years friendship with Dairmount and a common love of hybrid tracks loaded of musicality, Javi & Luis decided to lock themselves in studio last winter inspired by the idea to be the artist chosen to relaunch the label in 2015. The title Times Fly symbolises the longevity of friends that went through 2 decades of creation & exchange.

And the result has been as surprising as the pair shaped up a very hypnotic & tribal red line with these new tunes. The title track "Times Fly" has been recorded in a few hours on a full moon night in their berlin studio, managing to induce a perfect balance of melancholy & tribal rhythms. Quite different of their usual sound signature, the track got everything to conquer the hearts of many different dj's & listeners this summer. "Sacred Ritual" is born of the idea of creating a special tool for Panorama Bar (where the pair just played before their studio time in january) and focusing on the power of drums & percussions. Finally, "You Know It" is reminiscent of their classic Kyodai sound epitomised by their hit Breaking with filtered basslines & catchy samples. The track has been one of the big crowd pleasers of their recent live sets.

Fast-forward six months, past the devious Seth Troxler 12" collaboration 'Love Song', and the Swiss DJ and producer's back on the label with 'The Believer', three belting tracks with plenty of vigour.

Crawford - We Go Back

1Trax’s eponymous mix compilation series hits the ‘Three’ mark this August with a contribution from house and garage darling, Huxley. Following exceptional instalments from Matt Tolfrey and Subb-An, 1trax’s compilation series has a knack of catching artists at just the right moment and ‘Three’ is no different.

Huxley, aka Michael Dodman, has had an outstanding 2012. Building on an already rock-solid career which has seen him release on Tsuba, Cecille and deliver countless excellent remixes, this year has seen the Hertfordshire (UK) producer/dj deliver an outright anthem in ‘Let it Go’ for Hypercolour alongside superb EP’s for 20:20 Vision, Leftroom and Tsuba (forthcoming). His DJing abilities have seen him grace the decks the world over as well as podcasts for the likes of Fact and I-D, while winning universal press and radio support within electronic music.

Much like the Hypercolour and Tsuba producer’s productions, his mix here demonstrates a love for a smorgasbord of quality house and garage music while continually returning to powerful bass and prominent hooks throughout.

Opening with Huxley &amp; Sam Russo’s own, airy melodies of ‘Don’t Undastand’, ‘1trax Three’ quickly develops a tight groove with future-house cut ‘Shots’ by rising star Shenoda segueing into the classic garage vibe of Jordan Peak’s imposing ‘Work’. Twitchy, tweaky house from Iz &amp; Diz is bookended by two exclusive, and sharply contrasting remixes from Huxley himself (Shenoda ‘Moments’ and Maya Jane Coles ‘Dazed’) while the deep, warehouse feel of Nyra’s ‘Best Of’ takes us into the ample belly of ‘1Trax Three’.

From the mid-section of “1trax Three’ we’re treated to a short burst of barnstormers from Gavin Herlihy (‘Get Loose’) and Huxley himself (‘Let it Go’) before the moody, guttural tones of AND.ID (‘Erotica’) and Baunz (‘808s Pause Tapes And Other Shit’) provide some late night grit.

The final section of the mix, courtesy of Robert Owens, Nina Kraviz and Little Fritter &amp; Zare, indulges Huxley’s techier leanings before giving away to Julio Bashmore’s carnivalistic remix of ‘Square One’ by Mosca, which brings back the party vibes in abundance. Closing out with 24hour Experience ft Lorraine Lowe’s Nice’n’Ripe classic, ‘Give Me That Love’, ‘1trax Three’ is a varied but cohesive mix that doesn’t fail to excite and impress.

‘1trax Three’ mixed by Huxley is released on 1trax, mid-August 2012 with a 12” sampler of the two exclusive remixes being released slightly earlier.

Making moves on Cassy’s club-steady record label is New York-based DJ and producer Tommy Bones, with him bringing in renowned US vocalist and regular collaborator Lydia Rhodes who’s known for a string of seminal club anthems through the ‘90s and early ‘00s.

Born and raised in Connecticut, Tommy Bones’ fixation on house music and dancing
would pull him to the heady lights of New York in the early ‘90s. Rubbing shoulders
with living legends Lil’ Louie Vega, Kenny Dope and David Morales, and hitting
hallowed institutions Limelight, Sound Factory and Tunnel, he’d thrive in his environment. DJing led to producing in the 2000s, with his tracks landing on coveted labels Nervous Records, Dopewax, Strictly Rhythm, Defected and King Street. After over 20 years in the industry his passion continues to burn brightly, whether that be
through his productions, behind the DJ booth or via his now renowned weekly DJ broadcasts, 4-4 Sessions.

“I’ve had a go-to stash of Tommy’s tracks in my collection for years. His productions are vitalising, packed with energy and they absolutely lift a crowd. I actually met him at ADE last year while I was playing one of his tracks and hadn’t realised he was in
the booth behind me. Fantastic to finally have a moment with him face-to-face and
thank him for his music. I’ve road-tested his EP for Kwench and it is fire.” – Cassy

His two-track dispatch kicks off with engrossing title track featuring Lydia Rhodes, and we cut straight to the heat, with Bones’ blistering bassline and Rhodes laying it on thick with feverish vocals. ‘Acid Rain’ steams in second, relentless and uplifting,
with all horns blazing.

'DJ Sneak delivers his ‘Movin’ Parts’ EP via Kerri Chandler’s Kaoz Theory this May, comprised of two original mixes and two dub cuts from the US House maestro.
 
 Carlos Sosa, better known to most as DJ Sneak has long been at the forefront of US house movement, breaking through via releases on Relief and Cajual in the early nineties and still releasing his twist on raw and rugged house today via the likes of Pressure Trax, Ovum and No.19 amongst others. Here though he delivers his latest EP for Kerri Chandler’s Kaoz Theory.

 The ‘Main Mix’ of title-cut ‘Movin Parts’’ leads and sees Sneak lay down crunchy drums, jazzy Rhodes licks and choppy bass across nine minutes. The ‘Dub’ follows, stripping things back to a rawer state with more focus on the rhythmic aspects of the composition. 
 ‘Judy Russell Red’ then opens the second half of the package, bringing swinging jazztinged drums into focus alongside hypnotic vocal chants and wandering sub bass notes. The ‘Dub’ take on ‘Judy Russell Red’ completes the package finally, again offering a more refined take with the bumpy drums and snaking bass at the forefront.'
