Kaput commissioned a mix from AGS for our 4/20 special. AGS played for Kaput 5 x Normie Corp: Corpcore last 27 Jan 2024.

AGS is a Filipinx DJ currently based in ‘Vancouver’, Canada. As a sonic explorer, they blend genres ranging from the rhythmic melodies of trance and experimental to the relentless energy of hard trance and the powerful basslines of drum and bass. Genuinely find it hard to put into words what this night felt like. 

A sold out 700 cap venue, an all trans lineup, an almost entirely trans audience. Our own space, our own music, no one else to cater to.

Trans pride is a beautiful day but also a deeply sad one. Every year I find new reasons to be proud, but fresh grief comes far too often, before old grief has settled.

No one was there to forget, we were there to remember.

This mix is a love letter to my community and also a love letter to my younger self. The EDM of my childhood and the SOPHIE of my teens met the sounds I because obsessed with when I came out, found nightlife, and found my people.

It's not the most varied, and it's not all new - but I didn't want it to be. I wanted it to be my absolute top tier fave selections. Because the tr4nnies around me deserve the best music I can bring!

A couple edits I made specially:

5:35 : Octavia's Berlin Nightmate - a new SOPHIE track combined with the words of the legendary Octavia Saint Laurant in Queen of the Underground. I owe my life to the black trans women who came before me.

56:20 : Is it okay to cry in the water? - the two SOPHIE tracks which are hardest to hear extended into eachother and dragged out to a ripe 10 minutes... tears on the dancefloor guaranteed.

1:05:00 : You Think I'm Pretty (Teenage Dream) - the best parts of the best Katy Perry song and only the best parts... a love letter to the trans girls in my life who think I'm pretty without any makeup on.
