300 Violin orchestra has become a sports anthem and very well known among the pump up songs category. The producer Jorge Quintero, makes a living making hip hop beats and instrumental beats of all kinds. This epic track has been used all over from abc to fox sports, and played at major league games frequently.

This track features Jenn Cornell playing the cello. (http://montanaskiesmusic.com) Jenn's cello composition was inspired by the Indian flute virtuoso, Hariprasad Chaurasia and a sonata of J.S. Bach. (specifically, the second mov't of sonata in Gm for cello and piano.)  The inspiration came together after we both went to hear the amazing Kirtan group Shantala, who further inspired us both with their indian classical instruments. (http://www.shantalamusic.com) The track contains a 4hz binaural beat and is based on the root chakra.  The base tone is C (128hz).

Binaural beats are a way of synchronizing your brain waves (which are measured in hertz) with the hertz of the binaural beat. The brain has a frequency following response which causes this to occur. These can help induce states of relaxation, meditation and help to relieve anxiety and stressed out states. This works best with headphones because binaural beats are panned hard left and right which forces the brain to synchronize the two tones.

here's a basic rundown of the brains states:

Beta - 30hz-13hz - your normal awake state, in higher ranges or above 30hz you may be experiencing stress. In this case, you gotta chill!

Alpha - 13z-8hz - a relaxed and reflective state

Theta - 8hz-4hz - a very meditative state or getting drowsy and drifting off, if your sleepy)

Delta - 4hz and below - deep sleep or a very deep meditative state. Buddhist Monk's brainwaves have been measured in this state during meditation.

Arcade Fire - Neighborhood #4 (7 Kettles) - String Cover

This is a beautiful arrangement of the popular song "A Thousand Years" (Christina Perry) by the Piano Guys.  This cello/piano duo is a popular option for weddings in the St. Louis area.  This is a great song to use as a combination bridesmaids / bridal processional.  The Bridesmaids come out and the bride waits in the wings until the build and comes out in a climactic entrance.   Often there is not a dry eye in the place when this is pulled off correctly!

A very old composition, possibly the first I ever did for piano and cello...also an old recording from when I was just starting to learn how to record. Despite being such an amateur at the time, I'm still quite proud of this one.
