Kardano Remixes

Vancouver house producer Kardano releases his first full-length album, Art of Tones, featuring an all-Canadian line-up of vocalists - Tyra Jutai, Dtaborah, Melleefresh, Pinkee Skylark, Kor, Billy Newton-Davis, Marcus Carey, and Kardano himself.

Art of Tones started inauspiciously as a phone call from Kardano, asking Melleefresh if she could recommend any vocalists with whom he could collaborate. 'I proposed a bunch of fabulous singers I know,' Mellee recalls, 'and suggested we package the collaborations into an album.'

With the working title Kardano Does Kanada, Art of Tones was produced over several months in 2021, both between and during pandemic lockdowns, with Kardano patching into recording sessions remotely from his studio in Vancouver.

'I'm very hands-on and prefer to collaborate in person,' says Kardano, 'But under the circumstances, it was the next best thing.'

Kardano further develops his signature sound on Art of Tones, striking a delicate balance between house music and electro pop. With each singer delivering their distinctive vocal style, it's a one-of-a-kind collection of music made to dance to.

Copper 'N Gold

Kardano caps off a string of funky Summer singles with this electro pop banger in collaboration with Vancouver rapper/vocalist Kor.

'I saw Kor in a music video for rapper Grizzy Wynter,' remembers Kardano, 'and shot him a message about working on something together.'

With a mix of rap and soulful vocals, Kor is a great fit for Kardano's house and pop music sensibilities.

Cold Fire

The third single from his forthcoming album, Copper 'n Gold finds house producer Kardano teaming up with guitarist-vocalist and fellow Vancouverite Marcus Carey.

Kardano's smooth keyboard and production work fuses seamlessly with Carey's blues-laden guitar licks and anthemic vocals to create a solid pop/house banger.

Kardano's Art of Tones album drops September 16.

Vancouver house music producer Kardano teams up with Toronto femme fatale crooner Tyra Jutai for the club music-infused pop song Video Girl.

Tyra's sly, sugary vocals atop Kardano's uplifting piano-driven foundation makes for the perfect summer song to sing along to with the top down.

Video Girl is the lead single from Kardano's upcoming album, The Art of Tones, out on Play Records later this year.

Kardano's second single, Anything for Love. Ft Donel, is an awesome vocal house anthem about love.
 
Whether you search for it or you find it unexpectedly, love is a raw human emotion.  If you can embrace it, love will take you on a beautiful journey.  Love may also be overwhelming to others and Love can also break someone.  With that said, many of us will do anything for love, regardless of the ups and downs it brings us.
 
Originally, Anything for Love was solely written and composed by Kardano, with the vocals done on a talk box. Once the mixdown was completed, Kardano thought something was missing - most importantly, a human voice to tell that story. This led Kardano back to the drawing board.
 
Luckily, the puzzle pieces fell into place for Kardano. James Garielle from Electronik Estate helped restructure the lyrical arrangement. This led to James' friend Donel singing the newly arranged lyrics. Donel was able to deliver the raw emotions of pain, sadness, happiness, and bliss - emotions many of us feel when we are in love. This was the main inspiration of the song Anything for Love.

Kardano marks his official Play debut with Get Your Body Movin', a hard-hitting jackin' house cover of the funk classic Pass The Peas.

First produced years ago using samples from The JB Horns' original recording, the Vancouver-based producer was shopping the track around at the most recent Amsterdam Dance Event when we were lucky enough to cross paths.

Replacing the samples with live instrumentation and layering his own talk-box'd vocals atop this bed of feel-good funk, Kardano has produced what we consider to be the definitive dance version of this track.

Funky in all the right places and cool as f**k, if Get Your Body Movin' doesn't carry you to the dance floor, then nuthin' will.

From Vancouver house producer Kardano and rapper/vocalist Sade Ariel, For Granted is a smooth, catchy anthem that blossoms somewhere between house music and mainstream dance.

"It's not as experimental as most music I'm making these days," admits Kardano. "I was listening to my Spotify algorithm at the time." Influences here range from Calvin Harris and Gorgon City to Tupac and Keith Sweat.

The young producer became familiar with Sade through Vancouver's local hip-hop scene. "She's a rapper but sings in some parts of her music," he explains. "And I felt she had the mainstream voice to bring the track to life."

The result: a strong-hearted, indelible love song you can dance to, in the club, or the privacy of your own home.

Vancouver producer Kardano lays down three magnificent love song/house bangers on the maxi-single Forever.

The title track sets a unique, exquisite tone for the collection, balancing a strong rhythm with serene synths and vocals. Its follow-up, In My Heart, is classic house, full of soulful vocals and uplifting piano stabs.

The single closes out with I Know Who You R, a collaboration between Kardano and fellow label-mate Melleefresh. Adapting one of his own instrumentals to Mellee's vocals, the pair landed somewhere between dance and electro pop. Kardano explains, "This was a different process for me; it was like I was remixing my own composition."

Ireland's Never More kicks it off with a tense tech house adaptation relying heavily on the original's piano loop. Merseyside's Banju gives it a more traditional treatment with his bouncy remix. VagueEightysix takes us on a downtempo turn on his beautifully chill remix, reminiscent of early 90s after hours acid jazz. Vancouver's Kardano picks up the pace again, creating a perfect party anthem. Canadian music producer Kardano is an artist on the verge of
greatness. Developing a signature sound that is simultaneously
energetic and chill is no mean feat. And it’s taken the young
artist several incarnations to refine his craft.

A graduate of Vancouver's prestigious Nimbus School of
Recording, Kardano has had his works released by an array of
indie dance music labels, including Stoney Boy Music, Play
Records, Westwood X, UFO Recordz, DDiaz Recordings, LW
Recordings, and his own Boom Boom Music.

Kardano has DJ'd at numerous clubs around Vancouver, at
one-nighter gigs across British Columbia, and on a 9-month
cruise ship residency.

Since debuting in 2019, he has released 13 singles, 2 EPs, 6
remixes, and his work has appeared on numerous compilations.
In 2022, Kardano releases his first full-length studio album, Art
of Tones. Art Of Tones includes 8 tracks, each featuring a different
Canadian vocalist.

The first single, Video Girl, with Tyra Jutai, drops in May with
consecutive singles being released monthly until the album’s
release in September.
