"Dagsljuset träffade ansiktet på en som sov.
Han fick en livligare dröm men vaknade ej.
Mörkret träffade ansiktet på en som gick
bland de andra i solens starka otåliga strålar.
Det mörknade plötsligt som av ett störtregn.
Jag stod i ett rum som rymde alla ögonblick-
ett fjärilsmuseum.
Och ändå solen lika starkt som förut.
Dess otåliga penslar målade världen."

Darkness struck the face of a man who walked
among the others in the sun's strong 
impatient rays.
