Note that the recordings here are in no way a professional album; they are meant as a support for people who want to learn the melodies of these songs.

Also note that some of the lyrics may not be in accord with current ideas about what is PC and what is not, but apart from coming from a very different time and culture, some of these songs deliberately use derogatory terms to indicate the highest Buddhist spiritual principles and their ultimate inexpressibility.

Finally, in keeping with the tradition of how these songs were sung, one and the same melody can sometimes be used for more than one song.

I am an author and translator of books on Buddhism, also teaching Buddhism. I enjoy to sing, play the guitar, put songs of realization of great masters to melodies, and write some of my own songs and poems.
