This is the debut from Karl Dietel Five, played by a crack band of Jersey session and touring musicians. Written by Karl Dietel (The Samples), these 10 songs take the listener on a journey into the people, places and emotions that Karl absorbed in his touring days and as an observer of the lives that surround him. Karl Dietel began playing piano at age 6, banging away on his grandmother's ivory-keyed upright in the part of New Jersey where the corporations had just begun to buy the farmlands.  Ten years later, he abandoned his classical lessons for the greener pastures of rock and roll, learning as much from FM radio as from basement jam sessions.  Teen-age bar bands turned to college funk bands turned to very serious songwriting and a management deal or two.  A six-year stint playing for Sean Kelly and The Samples all over the U.S. of A. opened doors for future performances with such artists as Bernie Worrell, Devon Allman's Honeytribe, The Matt Angus Thing, Alternate Routes, Carbon Leaf and MMB.  He released a solo cd, "Please Allow Me to Introduce Myself" to some acclaim, the singles "Juliet" and "Fuzzy Dice" getting the most internet radio play. The disc showcases Dietel's "The Stranger"-era songwriting tendencies.
