Anastasia Volkova, known by her stage name Dona Volkova, is a pioneering DJ hailing from Russia who has firmly established herself as a key figure in the global dub techno scene. Renowned for her deep basslines, hypnotic rhythms, and unparalleled mastery of vinyl, she has become a true icon, celebrated as the "Queen of Wax and Selection."  

Dona Volkova’s journey began in Russia, where she cultivated her love for electronic music. Captivated by the atmospheric depths of dub techno, she immersed herself in its world by exploring the works of its pioneers and building an impressive vinyl collection. Her passion for the genre and dedication to her craft became the cornerstones of her career. In 2019, she relocated to Prague, Czech Republic—a city with a rich and vibrant music scene—where her career took flight.  

Adopting the moniker Dona Volkova, she quickly gained attention for her distinctive sound and technical skills. Her DJ sets, defined by their seamless blending of complex yet accessible soundscapes, have earned her acclaim across the dub techno community. A pivotal moment in her career came with her performance at Shella Invites in September 2024, where her set for Shella Radio showcased her talent to a broader audience and solidified her growing reputation.  

Dona’s contribution to the scene extends to various acclaimed projects, including the LANDSCAPES Mixtape and her standout mixes for the Hotbox Series and the GROOVEBAR Podcast Series No. 24*. A major highlight in 2024 was her *VINYL TECHNO Set at BlurD Studio, which underscored her dedication to preserving the art of vinyl DJing while infusing it with modern dub techno sensibilities.  

Her expertise and passion for vinyl earned her the title "The Queen of Wax and Selection in the Mix" through her work on the *ARR Deep & Dub Techno Podcast 046*. This recognition not only celebrated her skills as a DJ but also her deep connection to vinyl culture, where she bridges the timeless charm of analog sound with the evolving trends of electronic music.
