Welcome to the tenth edition of the Karly-K series. Thanks again everybody for your amazing comments so far!! This mix features some of my favourite tunes from the last year or so that I have been unable to showcase...until now!! I really hope you're ready for a diverse journey into sound. Starting out with some melodic breaks including the powerful I L.O.V.E. U by breaks masters, Framewerk, this is dedicated to my beautiful wife Amanda!! Then I journey into some of the best house music around which includes the relevance of Marea (We've lost dancing) which sums up the current difficulties our beloved music scene has faced for too long now....then I accelerate towards some peak time melodic/progressive house which concludes with Orrery by the super talented Budakid..wow what a track and that sound really makes me miss a supercharged and packed dancefloor!! This blends into the emotion of Time of knowledge...I love that tune!! Finally the outro is complete with New Day by the very quirky but very blissful Monkey Safari!!

Future Existence - Episode 2 - 2023

Karly K fue un coleccionista de vinilos durante los años ochenta, y ahi fue que comenzó a conectar con la música electronica influenciado por los sonidos Synth Pop , que lo llevaron a conocer el House y todas sus variantes.
Ya en el medio de los noventa, con Vinilos y Bandejas Technics 1210´s fue DJ de fiestas de Verano en Playas y otros eventos.
En ese momento estaba encantado con el sonido de Sasha,Paul Oakendfold y John Digweed , dioses del Progressive House en ese momento en UK.

Nunca dejó de coleccionar música, pero desde que clasificó como profesional en el PGA Golf Professional en 2002 , estuvo muy ocupado con su profesión por más de 20 años, hasta que llego la pandemia y el encierro.
En ese momento se digitalizó , cambió su equipamiento y comenzó a lanzar mixes en Soundcloud.

Actualmente está en el proceso creativo de sus redes sociales y de su Podcast "Future Existence" donde comparte su amor por el Progressive, Melodic House y Breaks con influencia de la vieja escuela.

Welcome back to the wonderful world of Future Existence!! After a magical summer of good times, I am proud to present Episode 5 for 2023. This mix was inspired by hearing Joseph Ray's, Changing Lanes at high volume (of course!!) on one of many road trips through the forest world of Canada. It just had to be the opener to my next mix & set the tone for a  deep & progressive sound from start to finish. It features some daring transitions to really showcase the dramatic landscape I was drawing inspiration from!! Mad Dog of DC - First I’d like to thank you for accepting my invitation to do a 30 for 30 House Music Mix collaboration with me! I really enjoyed what we achieved and look forward to future collaborations with you! What did you enjoy about the project?
Karly K - It's not often that I get the chance to collaborate with another artist who has as much passion for house music as I do!! Thanks Mad Dog!! Arranging a 30 min set was a lot of fun & I wanted it to reflect not only my style & preferences but to also compliment the first 30 mins, I really believe that challenge was met.

Mad Dog of DC - What led you to get into deejaying?
Karly K - I have always been a collector of vinyl since the mid-eighties, I was really influenced by the synth pop sound of the eighties & that naturally led to a love of house music in all it's forms.

Mad Dog of DC - Who would you say are some of your major inspirations in the field of deejaying?
Karly K - The man like Sasha is definitely my biggest inspiration..one of his mixtapes from 1991 is still in my collection. For 30 years I have been following his career & evolution & he is still pushing the boundaries. Paul Oakenfold is also a god in my eyes & his influence on house music over the decades is mind blowing!! I have to mention Armin Van Buuren, as he has also been a huge player in my love for electronic music..the one thing they all have in common is they have all carried the torch for house music in it's various forms & I thank them all for that!!

Mad Dog of DC - How long have you been deejaying?
Karly K - 28 years...hahaha I might be giving away my age!!

Mad Dog of DC - What advice would you give to someone who is just getting started and is interested in deejaying?
Karly K - Play the music you love & learn the basics of beatmatching. I was lucky to have learnt with vinyl & on Technics 1210's, which gives me distinct advantage when using controller's or CDJ's. It's really important to understand the importance of what key's work together. I have a musical background but for those that don't, the Camelot wheel is an excellent tool for the basics!!

Mad Dog of DC - What do you like most about deejaying?
Karly K - The moment when you discover a great blend..I love that!! Deejaying has personal moments of satisfaction but most of all it's the joy that you can bring to people's lives through sound, now that's a rare commodity...

Mad Dog of DC - What is it that you like most about House Music?
Karly K - House music to me brings many emotions in it's endless forms!! Personally, it gives me energy, love and good times!! If someone asked me to describe house music in one word I would say, positivity!!
