Alan Walker - Play (James Hayne Remix)

This is a continuous audio recording of the Floyd protest in Seattle Washington on the evening of May 30, 2020. PLEASE listen to this recording on headphones or nice speakers.

This recording starts around 5:30 pm after the initial peaceful protest had turned violent. Rain is pouring from the sky. As soon as I approach the point of conflict the action gets heavy. Around 2:30 you will hear a girl crying from pepper spray and shortly after (4:45) a rioter smashing a window about 10 feet on my right. This is followed by a large deployment of flash bang grenades and tear gas. The rest of the recording is a gradual back and forth as the cops attempt to push protestors out of the city. Even though there was plenty of rioting and looting happening at this time, the strong majority of the protestors in the area remained peaceful.

This was recorded on a Sound Devices MixPre-10 II and an ORTF mic rig containing two Sennheiser 8040s. Since it was raining so heavily I was also equipped with proper rain protection.
