fiancee is out of town. then it hit me. my cello is a "silent" cello. I can record at 3 am and no one would notice.

Making Mistakes and Moving On

a freshman effort... I recorded this as a freshman in college. the first of 3 recordings. recorded on a set of gemini turntables, 3 channel vestax mixer, and sampler. when i would take the rig home during breaks, my parents would interrupt me during the mix even though I'd keep recording, hence the name

Dj los - parental interruptions

About 30 years ago, a child was born. He didn't do what he was told but could only do everything he could to please others. He moved from state to state without complaint or fuss. He made friends and lost friends and never reclused. But he always found communication difficult. Then he came of age. When the time came to speak, he found himself using his own words less and less, and rather chose to quote others. Unknowningly, he closed into himself through the sounds of others. Struggling with finding his own voice, a passion swelled within him and emerged through sound. Realizing that sound was the ruling force in his life, he suppressed it, as this passion was his only weakness to the cruelty around him; it was his refuge so he could endure.

Then he discovered a bowl of noodles. Hearty and warm, its comfort distracted him from pains in life long enough to forsake his sound and sing aloud regardless of the pain and ecstasy using his own voice caused. These karmic noodles became his invincibility star and allowed him to act.

KarmaSai. It is filled with so many wonderful things. So many painful things. Yet nothing at all. Even, in it's core definition as a sum of its parts:

Kar - loyalty or family in Cantonese as pronounced in English
Masai - An nomadic warrior tribe regional to Tanzania and the Serengeti
karma - "action" in ancient Sanskrit
Sai - A Japanese dagger used to break swords.
