Iconic names truly worthy of legendary status join forces across the Atlantic Ocean. Both talented as they are industrious Tim Penner and Gai Barone have no desire to "Fade Away". Through smooth arpeggiated melodies of the underworld, loquacious vocals filter into sonic range, twinkling in the moonlight and galloping into the night amidst rolling percussive waves and evolving multi-faceted sequences. European borders "Fade Away" as Rauschhaus and GRAZZE provide a new collaborative force. Dynamic intensity bristles via emotive chords and bassline power. Familiar vocals enchant within a new sonic framework while glassy motifs shine in a delicately refracted half-light.

A welcome returnee sees Anton MAKe create another sonic impression. Subtle percussive hi-hats syncopate, light turns to dusk amidst a new chord structure that bends to a different force. Intelligent phrasing sees vocal touches make their play in an understated aural chemistry. A new Deeparture is the very antithesis of "Fade Away" where rising arpeggios are fully to the fore in front of enlightened chord progressions that light up the moonlit sky. Every now and then, dreams  come true and time has come for our special dream project to come alive. Diez Mil Records’s launch is marked by one of the most accomplished, respected and sophisticated artists of the last 20 years, that is no other than Robert Babicz. Robert is a unique music producer, a true craftsman and mastermind when it comes to music design, always fitting tons of emotions and feelings in his productions, scaling from music soundscaping to massive dance floor anthems. With his “Sea Of  Colors EP” Robert makes non the less another track for the future generations, as to what emotional music stands for. Luscious groove with the signature analogue baseline that Robert is known for, along with dreamy layers of pads and harmonious synths make up the scenery of almost 9 minutes of pure music excellence. The tripping vocals spotted are from fellow Benjamin James which makes another collaboration with Robert, creating a real masterpiece.

  The first remix comes from one of the best producers out there and for sure one of the most in demand. Jamie Stevens, former member of the awarded Infusion electronic band, takes the original on another level with his tech style, creating a powerful piece of music. An intro that is building up elements for the most part of it, taking the original ideas of Robert Babicz to a deep tribal-ish state with a massive groovy baseline and percussion. 

Second remix of the EP comes from newcomer and one to watch out for, The Other Me. As a label we show support wherever talent exists. And The Other Me has lots of it, proving it for 12 continuous minutes creating a mellow, smooth and deep track. Starting with a haunting theme with a mix of vocals and synths,it climaxes with the most unexpected way making the break a battlefield of analogue Moog madness and twisted sounds resembling the mighty theremin. The tracks drives back from the break with an ending structured with the vocals of the original.

The whole EP is full of talent and the warm analogue feeling we all seek for innovative and creative sound design and it is quite possibly the best way to start Diez Mil Records.

Lost & Found deliver the long-awaited, highly anticipated remix package for Khen's 'One Day Of Independence' LP this week. It's a stacked line-up on the release with label boss Guy J himself, Lehar, Luca Bachetti, Termoment and rising star Patrice Baumel all turning in their own takes on cuts from the album. Baumel, who's seized major attention with releases on the likes of Kompakt and Anjunadeep over the last year, provides a sleek, smooth, synth-laden roller for the occasion, taking the original track up a notch in intensity. We're very excited to present the remix in full premiere today :)

Premiere: Hermanez & Eran Aviner - Storyteller [Edge]

Last November when hot sweaty clubs were a thing, I played along side @BookaShade at London's E1. Their album Movements, released on Get Physical back in 2006 was/still is genius and something I return to regularly for inspiration, so to share a night with them was special.

We had an amusing pre gig dinner - It was great to have a moment to actually sit down, talk and get to know the guys a little. A few weeks later Arno kindly asked if I’d be interested in remixing ‘Polar Lights’ from their new album. I’ve discussed my approach to remixing before, one of the main points being I don’t jump on them lightly however, their track was ripe for reworking - first off it wasn’t already a dance track with a 4/4 groove - it was more of a down tempo vibe and most important, due to the great performance of @joplynberlin I could hear the vocal working a treat.

2019 was winding down and we were approaching our first Christmas with Huxley so decided to wait till the new year to start work on the mix so i could give it my full attention, so ended up starting in early February after arriving in Ibiza… then old Covid-19 decided to rocked up! What then unfolded was a month tucked up away at the top of the valley, diving in and out of the project, experimenting with the original parts of the song i'd been given, searching for the little moments that would then become the final piece. There were a couple times when I needed a proper environment to get to grips with the sonics of the mix. This meant a few covert missions to a studio near by - if caught by the Ibizan police it wouldn’t have gone down well... anyhow… we got there in the end and really happy that its out now in the ether.
