I while ago I stumbled across this amazing modular athmosphere by /u/GianGarone:

So I tried making a kind of industrial metal song out of that. Added some drums in ableton (EZDrummer + samples) and recorded guitars over it with the Quad Cortex.

It was a lot harder to find a coherent sound than I thought and I'm not 100% happy with the result. Thought I'd share it anyway =)

In the mood for something chill today...

I absolutely love the zen delay! In this track I use it as a improvised "looper" for the chill samples you hear in the beginning. I feed the samples into the buffer of the delay using the deluge, the zen delay then repeats them for the rest of the track.

Found an old sample I recorded from a pad on the Peak on my MPC, so I made a short sample based jam today. The MPC runs through the Zen Delay for easy filter sweeps, the Deluge controls the Peak which plays the lead sound.

Set out wanting to do a hard techno track, ended up with some kind of weird 90s trance thing I guess? Thats Jamuary for ya XD


The deluge is doing most of the heavy lifting on this one - drums, pads, ambience fx & sweeps, as well as sequencing the whole thing... the Peak is playing the bass, and I added the lil Erebus for some arps because I haven't used it in a while and it has a unique timbre that cuts right through any mix. The Erebus runs through an Axe-FX (guitar multi fx unit), which adds chorus and reverb.

First Jam on the newly arrived Pulsar 23... This thing is a BEAST!!! Might have gone a liiiiiittle overboard with the distortion in the last part XD
I sequenced it using the Deluge because I'm not yet accustomed enough with the internal looper.

The main output of the Pulsar is in mono, so I ran it through the Zen Delay for some "fake stereo" width and delay stuff.
You can route all 4 channels to individual outputs though, so the next step is definitely to find a way to mix them properly (panning, different FX).

I have to say the machine is a loooot of fun to play though, and I only scratched the surface of what it can do!
