A Saranga Convergence started out from a quest initially to make a psychedelic song. However what came about was a song that had strong influences of progressive rock and time signature experiments along with a carnatic 'thillana like' melody . This whole song came about within a few hours of jamming with the musicians and remains one of our favourites.

Telisi Rama in Purnachandrika holds a special place in my repertoire of songs as this was the first track I learnt from my guru Kalaimamani Sri. V. Thyagarajan. The breezy melody of the track with the catchy swarams lends itself beautifully to the sound of the violin.

Telisi Rama - Thyagaraja - Flow by Karthick Iyer

Karthik Ananth has been into music from the age of seven....when he took his first keyboard lesson. For the next 9 years, the keyboard lessons were like a swinging pendulum, as Karthik wanted to play music by 'Feel' and 'Ear' rather than the notes. Nevertheless, he has completed 3 Grades in Musical Theory and Initials Grade in Practical Music certified by the Trinity College of London. For the last 4 Years, Karthik has joined a new breed of composers working on the genres of Melodic Pop/Rock and World Fusion. His Band, CINC (Clarity in Confusion) has already given 2 shows in Chennai. He also plays the keys for Mithya and Anubhooti at the University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign.He has already featured on 4 stage shows at UIUC. Apart from being an additional vocalist, Karthik also plays the Melodian, Drums and has recently picked up the Bass Guitar and Fingerboard. Karthik is an ardent fan of A.R.Rahman, The Corrs, U2,Oxygen, Ilayaraja and Hans Zimmer.He wishes to be a Musician forever and aspires to score music for movies sometime in the future.
