Whether it's DJing, producing, filmmaking, or good manners, Los Angeles artist @PLS-TY approaches his art form with a lucid degree of motivation and determination. Over the past few years, PLS&TY, born Tommy Leas, has established himself as one of the most promising new artists in the dance music community. From living in Palm Beach, FL and driving an hour-and-a-half to Miami for parties to moving to Los Angeles and pursuing a full career in electronic music, this young beacon of synth-driven light has found a home in the growing world of future bass.

PLS&TY has been blasting through his métier, from syncs with K-Pop award shows and Hershey's commercials to selling out shows alongside Illenium, Louis Futon, and Crywolf. The success hasn't gotten to his head, either. As you'll see below from our interview, Leas carries himself with an air of refined confidence and (as his name would suggest) politeness. His music, on the other hand, add a bit of edge to his polished personification. Tracks like "Run Wild" and "Good Vibes" perfectly encapsulate his direction as an artist. With hard-hitting basslines and raucous synths, his energy-packed sound offers more than just a head-banging good time. The nuanced pop sentiments and cleverly structured compositions set his work several shelves above others who just want to make a sick tune.

I feel like I've grown so much over this past summer and I'm kind of in awe of how beautiful life can be at the moment. In a way, this is like the sequel to Empathy. 

I wanted to cement this story with some of my favorite artists because I can't imagine where I'd be without their music.

asbo, born Carl Garsbo, has established himself as a sensation across electronic music with his transformative, emotional sound. Following his second album The Making of a Paracosm, released on ODESZA’s Foreign Family Collective and Counter Records, Kasbo made his highly-anticipated return in 2024 with singles, “The Way You Had Me” and “Alive.”
 
Ever a creative mind, for Kasbo, the past years of isolation were quick to transform into an era of curiosity and introspection. Time spent away from tour and at home in Sweden galvanized him to turn to what he knew best – music. He found solace in honing in on his DJing while at home and sharing music with his friends, bonding over nostalgic memories and music that encouraged them to keep it moving, even during this time spent away from the dancefloor. He reveled in the minimal subtlety of euphoric club music, became infatuated with hypnotic trip hop. Months spent away from touring the world transformed into an invaluable period of deep diving into a newfound realm of music. 
  
Kasbo continues to uphold his position as a bright beacon for the genre. Through masterful expertise in sound design, the Swedish producer and songwriter continues to introduce music that connects and stirs on a deeper level with a rare grace and delicacy. Awarded Sweden’s P3 Gold Award for ‘Dance Artist of the Year’ and a recipient of critical acclaim from outlets like Billboard, The FADER, Stereogum, and many more, fans have found and fallen in love with his music thanks to his unique approach. His 2018 debut Places We Don’t Know was nominated a Top 10 Electronic Album of the Year by Run the Trap and kicked off his strong start across streaming platforms, receiving 173M+ combined streams. In 2020, Kasbo followed up with The Making of a Paracosm, which was awarded a top choice for Dancing Astronaut’sTop Electronic Albums of 2020 and went on to garner over 62M+ streams. In total, Kasbo has received nearly 500M combined streams to date. 
 
Kasbo has recently returned from joining Jai Wolf for nine tour dates across North America in fall 2023. He previously performed at world-renowned festivals, including Coachella, Splendour in the Grass, Electric Forest, Firefly Festival, Hangout Fest, and many more. He has toured around the world in support of Glass Animals, ODESZA, and Big Gigantic, and alongside SofiTukker, Louis The Child, Hayden James, and Chet Porter.
