I had the pleasure of being asked to return back to Evolution 2022 - Tree of Life festival after so long away due to the all the pandemic nonsense..

To be able to travel again is fantastic, to be able to travel and play on the road again is even more unbelievable. I think we were all starting to think we were going to be locked down for life! Especially us Australians who did it particularly tough with the extent and length of all the restrictions.

This was and will be one of my favourite sets of this tour and it was only my first gig on it. The fact I got to play for 4 hours on a massive rig at a festival in front of a super intelligent crowd made it all the more fun. 

Everyone knows I hate playing short sets and doing short mixes that's why I don't do choose to do many of either. I pick and choose my battles these days to make sure I get the gigs and sets where I can maximise my true abilities rather than slam out 10 x 1 hour mixes a year of meaningless rushed sets of each months hits. For me this proves nothing other than keeping social media relevant which is a nessasary evil but that's my personal opinion. Music is and should always be about a journey no matter what genre and unless I feel I can have to the right tools to be able deliver that for me it's a pointless exercise, especially when I can cross so many genres's in a gig.

Playing overseas again has reignited my faith in underground dance music. 

DISCLAIMER: This is a non apologetic trip down the rabbit hole this time. It's different and way more techno from my usual mixes which I hope you enjoy....

A massive thanks to everyone who shared this Mad Monday with me for my closing set on the Bushtechno stage. This set was super special for me. I just love closing sets and long sets also and this one was something else. The setting, the crowd and the organisation from top to bottom was absolute top notch and to ride this one into the sunset with you all was super special.

One of the most loved and respected names in the Australian dance music industry, Kasey Taylor made his mark in his hometown of Melbourne before John Digweed scouted him in the mid-nineties on his first trip to Australia where Kasey was playing the warm up set for him. It was that warm up where he gained Digweed’s instant respect and shortly after he invited Kasey to play at his infamous Bedrock night in London. That was the catalyst for Taylor to take his sound to a global audience, leading to international exposure and a permanent move to Europe to satiate the demands of his worldwide bookings that followed.

Kasey is the creative power behind the highly revered Vapour Recordings, the 25-year old mainstay which was founded in 1997 and is over 160 releases deep and still going strong.

More recently Kasey has gone through a massive personal and creative resurgence. The recently rebranded Vapour Recordings is on a roll again with the label releasing regularly after a 2 year break due to the pandemic. The standard of the releases is and has always been what makes the label stand out from the rest, with names like Guy J, Hernan Cattaneo, Gai Barone, Stereo Underground, Jamie Stevens, Nick Warren, Dousk, James Monro, Mike Rish, GMJ, D-Nox & Beckers and many more high profile artists all appearing on the label.
