Rebūke returns for his third EP on Drumcode, reinforcing his status as one of the most innovative new artists in techno.

The Irishman’s previous offerings on the label ‘Rattle’ and ‘Obscurity’ have been standouts; interesting and innovative in equal measures, the artist’s grind to push himself sonically and offer up something fresh with each release profoundly evident. ‘Rattle’ was a commercial and critical success, included in DJ Mag’s tracks of 2019 round-up, while ‘Obscurity’, garnered acclaim from all corners of the industry and saw all three tracks hit the Beatport Techno Top 10 (Peak Time / Driving).

‘Wasp’ continues this inspiring vein of form. The lead track is a signature Rebūke’ the kind that of synapse-searing belter that promises to join the canon of his biggest tracks to date. ‘Clarity’ and ‘Redemption’ are shimmering slices of cinematic techno, drawing as much inspiration from film soundtracks, as they do from the rave, reinforcing the artist’s expansive creative approach. ‘Redemption’ will be familiar to many, having highlighted Rebūke’s acclaimed Essential Mix last summer. It continues on the same thematic tip, a stirring widescreen composition, powerful and emotive; it’s destined to be an end-of-night tear-jerker, once it’s safe for parties to return.

Drumcode hits the autumns months with a dancefloor ace fit for a variety of occasions. Patrik Berg, who debuted on the label with an excellent contribution to A-Sides Vol.10, returns with 'Living the Lie'. The cut respectfully honours a Gladys Knight classic, marrying the lead vocal lines with more of his trademark deep techno rhythms.

Proving that you can’t keep a good grove down, Dubfire’s ‘Sound Bath’ gets the re-rub from the ever-reliable Will Clarke, adding another sure-fire winner into Kneaded Pain’s bustling catalogue.

Dubfire needs little introduction, suffice to say that the legendary DJ & producer has been behind huge singles like ‘Ribcage’, ‘Roadkill’ as well as his own SCI+TEC label.  Will Clarke, meanwhile, has forged his own illustrious career, launching his own All We Have Is Now imprint, alongside releases for labels such as Trick, We Are The Brave, Relief and Drumcode.

A scene stalwart since the 90s, Drumcomplex is a DJ, producer, label owner and crowd favourite. With a discography that spans from Carl Cox’s Intec and Monika Kruse’s Terminal M to Andre Crom’s OFF Recordings, his tough, funky tech style has continued to impress for 20 years. As a DJ, he regularly travels the world playing at clubbing hotspots on every continent. His own label, Complexed Records, set up in 2014, echoes Drumcomplex’s desire to make music that is clear in its structure and credible in its message. 

Starting with ‘Over You’ Drumcomplex drops a stomping groove over a creeping synth and echoed vocal for maximum dance floor devastation. Title track, Disco, is a lighter affair with bubbling synths and sparse percussion. Hypnotic and relentless, its appeal is hard to miss. Finally, ‘Black’ showcases some complex drum work and a spiky bassline. Peak time power from the German maestro.

Pleasurekraft return to Drumcode on remix duties after a 2 year hiatus with all engines on the Cosmic Techno ship firing.  Big-room atmospheric drums and an infectious call and response hook intertwine with Green Velvet's otherworldly vocals to produce a new highly visceral and steroid injected version of the original.  The "Space Date" remix marks the sixth collaboration between the seminal purveyors of the Cosmic Techno sub-genre, Pleasurekraft, and Chicago's iconic dance music pioneer Green Velvet. 

The remix initially came about after Drumcode head Adam Beyer heard Pleasurekraft's "Welcome to the Universe" EP [Kraftek] at the end of 2018.  A huge supporter of the Swedish/American production duo, Adam felt so inspired by the whole EP, especially "Main Sequence" that the opportunity for Pleasurekraft to take their love of all things space related lent itself naturally to the thematic elements in Green Velvet's vocals. 

The track's spine is built around a hypnotic groove that is anchored to a single word from the original's vocals : "ecstasy" and slowly builds to the first climax of the record where the listener finally hears Green Velvet's vocals in full for the first time.  However it isn't until the second break of the track that the power of the remix is finally unsheathed, resetting the groove and building up to a second swell featuring a duo of call and response melodies between the lead hook and a lower end bass that takes the intensity of the track up another notch - ultimately culminating in complete silence that gives way to the remix's original heartbeat and repeating mantra: "ecstasy". 

Taking over a month of studio time to complete, it was road tested for the first time at Pleasurekraft's Fabric London gig, where there was no shortage of inquiries as to the ID of the record.  This soon became a repeating theme after Adam Beyer first included it on DCR446 and played it during both of his Ultra Miami (Resistance) sets, including his closing b2b set with Maceo Plex who loved the track so much he proceeded to get his own copy and play it during his own solo set one week later at Time Warp in Germany.  

Multiple clips of the remix have already gone viral on various social media and blog outlets, with no shortage of fans waiting anxiously for the June 24 release date on Adam Beyer's own Drumcode Records. In Adam Beyer's own words, Pleasurekraft are "setting new standards" with their continued foray into the Cosmic Techno sub-genre they continue to define.

With this EP Kaiserdisco wants to draw attention to mental illness and the use of music as a therapy.

As the boys are having some experiences with mental illness in their family and closer circle of friends, they know that affected people can use music to make themself feel better.

The EP contains three tracks. The first one is an intro, called „Paranoid“. The second one is called „Bipolar Disorder“ followed by the last track „Schizophrenic“.

„Paranoid“ consists of a repetitive chord melody, which starts quietly and dry. By using delay and reverb effects, the track builds up more and more energy until it finally discharges in a musical thunderstorm.

„Bipolar Disorder“ shows two different faces, similar to the symptoms of the disease. This proper techno track is running and running with it’s triple eights monoton synthline, gets fuller and increases more and more tension until it changes completely to show it’s second face and turns to an unexpected emptiness with a brutal and mind-blowing signature bass sound. 

„Schizophrenic“ finally comes up with a quirky and never ending, short melody which bores itself into your head and into your mind. This little synth theme feels like it is chasing you like a subliminal message, that wants to make you dance and go crazy.
