So many beautiful experiences I have been through the last couple of weeks. From a beautiful gig in Lake Tahoe, to other crazy ones in LA, NY, San Diego and Austin. And then last week I had the privilege to play at the AfrikaBurn. A festival about 5 hours drive from Cape Town. I did two shows there. A sunset one and a pre-burn one. Both beautiful on its own. And when you hear the crowd scream: 'one more song, one more song' knowing that I already played 2 'more' songs....yes, then you know that they like what you do. That having said: I love bringing joy and happiness in your lives so the feeling is mutual! So straight from the heart another Deep & Sexy podcast for you guys. #ResurrectionDeepHouse 80's and 90's songs remixed to #Deep House.
This mix is to pay #Homage to the #era Deep House was born. It felt like there was nothing better than mixing Deep House with the genres and songs that were already popular (#Pop, #Hip Hop, etc...).

 In the late 80's house music split into many sub-genres because the term “house music” became many things to many people. Much of the world associated house as either Euro-led trance, or Hard House  – a purer electronic, and less melodic sound favored by some mainstream radio stations and known DJs.

#DeepHouse commonly appeared as a genre in the early 90's, describing a more melodic, stylish sound with influences from soul, jazz and African beats, with many of the earlier tracks being sampled chords and beats. The jazzy sound became more apparent due to the favored use of electronic pianos such as the Fender Rhodes, Wurlitzer and Hammond B3 organ.  Examples of well known Deep House artists and producers include Kerri Chandler, Joe Claussell, Mateo & Matos, Roland Clark and Ron Trent. Some of the early record labels included #HenryStreet #NervousRecords #KingStreet, etc.

In more recent years #DeepHouse tends to refer to tracks on the “spacier” side of Soulful House and tends to imply vocals, deeper tones, heavy organ chords and hypnotic synth sounds.

We are kicking off 2021 with an old friend of ours: Valeron

Generally recognized as the top DJ on the island of Mykonos, Valeron is definitely one of the longest standing and most omnipresent figures of the ever-shifting local music scene.

Soon after relocating to Mykonos, he became a producer releasing tracks that helped register his name in the Deep House and Electronic genre. This carried him through to becoming a founder of the Bercana Music label and releasing 2 personal albums already “Amare” & ‘’Aigaio’’. Valeron’s albums introduce a unique combination of traditional Greek instruments and Electronic beats.

Every Saturday at Scorpios Mykonos Valeron leads ‘’Scorpios World’’ where he performs live alongside Greek musicians of instruments such as the clarinet, violin, Ney,Bouzouki, Saz, Oud,Santur and many more. With lots of originals and remixes that had climb on top of Beatport charts, on May 2019 he will release his third personal album.
