★ PREMIERE ★ Rosie From The Block - 'Let The Drum'

Enveloping ambient textures, propulsive percussion and epic basslines settle alongside each other on "Drops" by Amane, the London-based artist, musical director and producer best known previously for his membership of spiritual jazz ensemble Maisha.  

"Drops" is taken from Amane’s debut release, ‘Moments Of Solace’ via Música Macondo.

Introspective and contemplative from the outset, the EP’s 6 tracks meander between the hypnotic pulse of electronic percussion, nocturnal pads evoking elated epiphanies and calming synths. Echoes that fade and return, ecstatic waves of sound.

For Amane, the music collected on ‘Moments Of Solace’ is the physical answer to a world that seems to become darker every day. A creative way out, a sonic world where ambient excursions à la Boards Of Canada coexist with thumping beats that could have rolled out of a Floating Points’ set at Plastic People.

Amane is an East London based musician, musical director and producer with a career spanning across a wide range of genres and artistry. Over the last several years Amane has served as Musical Director for Jorja Smith, Amaarae, Ego Ella May and Maverick Sabre; performed and filmed sessions with artists such as Ed Sheeran, Elton John, Anne-Marie, Sigrid, Dermot Kennedy, King Krule and Ata Kak; alongside being a part of the burgeoning London Jazz scene as a member of ensemble, Maisha, whose debut album was released on Gilles Peterson’s Brownswood label, as well as being part of the genre defining compilation, We Out Here. 

Despite an intensive touring schedule, Amane has been writing and recording his own music which reflects upon the state of the world and invites the listener to create a space in which they can find a brief moment of calmness and escape.

Música Macondo is a London-based independent record label founded by DJ, broadcaster and record collector Tim Garcia. The label's mission is to release timeless music for music lovers worldwide. To cultivate a community that transcends classifications and boundaries. In summary, “Borderless Music”.

This album has felt like a long time coming, as the first single ‘The Standard’ dropped back in September. But what a way this was to open an album!
This full-length collection entitled ‘Whateverism’ is the marker of twenty years in the music business for Turbojazz, and it is a celebration of his journey into the sonics and genres that have shaped his tastes and formed the trademark sound that he is known for about the globe. It’s a kaleidoscopic journey that glides from one track to the next in a highly impression fashion through shades of House, Nu Jazz, Hip House, Soul, and the most modern electronic drifts of Deep. Full to the brim with collaborations, you can find the much acclaimed, LA based MC Dave Giles II, who recently featured on the Honey Dijon track Work and on Beyoncé’s Cozy. You will also come across Detroit’s very own - and Moodymann’s most featured vocalist on the hallowed Mahogani Music - deep house diva Nikki O, who gets together with UK House master Sean McCabe on the ridiculously good ‘In Love Again’, plus Japan’s Brisa from the Bastard Jazz family too. 
All of this is packaged with some of the most promising talents from Italy, the motherland from which Turbojazz was born and bred. There’s Neapolitan & Srilankese vocalist Sara Vanderwert, who features on ‘You Are Worth It’, and the Arya who sings the stunning lyrics on ‘We Lost A Night’ in a duet with Losangelino rapper, Demetrius Rhymes. Not forgetting to mention Tommy’s long-time close collaborator from their trio Jaxx Madicine, Veezo, who is in charge of the brilliant key work and scintillating synths on most of the album.
Enjoy this highly impressive and unpredictable journey into the illusive world of Turbojazz. If the world did not know his name before, it will be standing up and knowing his name now.

Tel Aviv's Nenor has released on the most illustrious of imprints like Moodymann's Mahogani Music, Dam Swindle's Heist Recordings, Strictly Rhythm and Defected, with a wide-ranging house sound fusing clever sampling with the sounds of vintage gear and rare synths.

He arrives on Burnin Music with a stunning quartet of deep grooves ready for balmy summer daze and nites.

The title track jams along with insistent Rhodes chords and dubby chords and drum fills that give a nod to his time spent living and recording reggae musicians in Jamaica, while 'Side Effect' heads into dreamier territory with its chuggy tempo, '70s film score strings, twinkling electric pianos and guitar glissandos.

'Start It Up' recalls golden age hip-hop with its taut drum break and melancholy key scales and chords, and 'Green Time' finishes off in beguiling style with a hypnotic and darkly-tinged tribal rhythm.

Greg Foat travels to Finland, teaming up once again with the Jazzaggression label to unveil "Feathers." Building on the success of "Gone to the Cats," the collaborative trio date with Aleksi Heinola and Teemu Åkerblom, "Feathers" follows a similar formula while expanding its musical horizons. "Feathers" introduces an even larger cast of Finnish musicians, including the notable inclusion of Finnish saxophone legend Eero Koivistoinen on tenor sax and the talented Ilmari Heikinheimo on percussion. Recorded over a stormy long weekend in mid-October 2022 at Jazzaggression's in-house Studio Pelto, the album strikes a balance between precomposed tracks and spontaneously created pieces.

Devotees of Greg's earlier releases are in for a treat, as "Feathers" skillfully merges his signature atmospheric touch with an expanded synthesis of sounds. Imagine the legendary Eero Koivistoinen infusing his prowess into the monumental jam "Riding the Breeze," while tracks like "Feathers" and the contemplative "A Prayer for Love" showcase a downtempo elegance that lingers in the air.

Yet, "Feathers" doesn't stop there—it delivers captivating jazz classics as well. Experience "The Sandpiper," a bluesy minor jam reminiscent of the golden era of CTI Albums, or delve into the engaging rhythms of "Inconsequential Narrative" and the thematic intrigue of "As the Crow Flies." A particularly enchanting aura envelops "When All Is Said and Done." Its ephemeral minimalistic essence captures a spontaneous late-night allure, compelling the engineer to "Keep the tape rolling..."—the kind of magic that can only be conjured in the moment.

With "Feathers," Greg Foat brings his animalistic trilogy of albums on Jazzaggression to a triumphant close, possibly delivering his most exceptional recording yet.

"PSK - Disco Season" is one of the most in-demand and surely rarer Disco-Funk/Reggae LP ever made in Nigeria and for Dig This Way records it's the continuation of the cooperation with the friend Austin Rigar, lead singer of "The Combats". In this release, the two best tracks of the original LP got pressed on a phat sounding 45rpm 12'', housed in a full-color disco sleeve. Last but not least, two dancefloor-ready edits of the track "Spell Bound" by DNArt & Black Pomade are included with any digital or physical copy of the release.
