On the back of two huge remixes, label bossmen Spektre are back with a scintillating original. “Forged in the Heart of a Laserbeam” is a sci-fi tinged, trance-infused slice of techno. An unusual, haunting synth sequence morphs and evolves through the track, being joined by epic pads and juddering, gated vocals.
The remix package comes courtesy of Skober and Sasha Carassi. Skober stays fairly true to the original with his mix, whilst cranking up the breakbeats in the drop and giving it his unmistakable spin.
Sasha Carassi strips things right back, and rebuilds a seriously cool, contemplative cut around the strings and pads.

‘Alientronic’ was recorded during the cold winter months in Berlin at the end of 2018, a time when creativity hits a peak in the city. “When I started to work on this track, I could not envision how it would turn out, I was just making it, bit by bit. After doing the first beats, I made the bassline using Reaktor. The sound and the sequence reminded me a bit of the old school stuff from The Hacker and David Carreta and the idea of inviting Kittin to do the vocals came to mind. She said she loved the track and she was gonna do the vocals and the result could not be better. I am a huuuge fan of hers going back many years and I have a lot of her records from when I started playing, right through to her recent productions. I remember when she went to Brazil about 15 years ago to play at one of the most loved clubs there at the time called Lov.e. I could not be there but I saw her on TV when she gave an interview on one of the country’s biggest channels. I vividly remember calling all my family to see it – I felt a huge admiration for her, her music, her style and everything about her. And I still do! I was a 17-year-old living in the Brazilian countryside at the time watching one of my idols on TV and could never have imagined that one day we would be doing a track together. Life is so unpredictable and this is a beautiful gift that music gave me.” - ANNA

On The World of Monnom Black II, new artists including VTSS, DIMI (AnD), Vladimir Dubyshkin, Hadone, Fractions, LDS, Aahan and Buried Secrets all throw down tracks which fuse tight machine rhythms with intricate detail. There's also a return for many established label favourites such as UVB, Dax J, Zanias and Thomas P. Heckmann as Knarz.

To round out the compilation there’s a re-release of the timeless 1998 cut, “Devious Methods,” from legendary artist Hive, and Tellurian’s hardcore classic, “Big Bad City,” gets a new mix from Dax J.

Marco Faraone re-imagines two Radio Slave classics for ‘The Marco Faraone Remixes’ EP this December on Rekids.

The release sees UNCAGE label founder Faraone follow his ‘True Love EP’ on Rekids with incendiary versions of two of Matt Edwards’ most iconic cuts, ‘Don’t Stop No Sleep’ and ‘Grindhouse’.
‘Don’t Stop No Sleep’, originally released on Nonplus in 2014, is turned on its head by Faraone who adds huge synth lines and fresh vocals to beefed-up drums, twisting the sparse, minimalist original production into a warehouse bomb.

On the flip ‘Grindhouse’, a track which soundtracked many a party in 2008 in part thanks to a landmark remix from Dubfire, is tweaked into an eerie stomper by the Tuscan producer who centers his version around rattling percussive delays and subtle atmospherics.

By revisiting these productions and adding his own signature flair, Marco Faraone has given a new lease of life to a set of bonafide classics.
