Such is the volume of quality music Adam Beyer receives throughout the course of the year, releasing all of it would be impossible. Enter the blue chip A-Sides series: a chance for the quality-obsessive label head to issue a collection of outstanding tracks that couldn’t fit in their regular EP release schedule. 

With an eye on future talent, as much as the label’s established roster of heavy-hitters, the compilation showcases the full breadth of Drumcode’s multifaceted techno sound, equal parts inspiring and functional.
 
Led by the stealth techno funk of ‘Nine of You’, Beyer’s deft collaboration with Mark Reeve, the compilation takes in exciting highlights from big guns such as Alan Fitzpatrick, Dustin Zahn, Bart Skils, Pleasurekraft, Luca Agnelli, Jay Lumen, Kaiserdisco and Gary Beck. 

The rich vein of form displayed by emerging techno talent is similarly given prime position. Rising DJ/producer Boxia makes his Drumcode debut, fresh from a well-received warm up set for the crew at the hugely successful Junction 2 festival in London, while the likes of Enrico Sangiuliano, Juan Sanchez, Ian O’Donovan and Timmo also drop fire, establishing their credentials as some of the most promising talent breaking through the ranks in 2016. 

Reinforcing the global scope of the label, artists such as The Junkies from Toronto and Layton Giordani from New York, prove techno is winning a place in the heart of the new generation of artists coming out of North America.

A home grown product of the Frankfurt electronic scene, it’s only right that Michael Klein should find his way to Cocoon Recordings. After a string of releases on BLK DRP, Second State and Micro.fon, together with a DJ schedule that’s established him as a well known face on the European techno circuit, destiny has come knocking and the result is a two track EP
that will blow the roof off even the most sturdy of clubs.

Thunder clouds gather on “Yuzu“ - a full-on dose of headstrong, slamming techno. Rampant hi hats, a rasping bass and a frenzied acid riff conjure up a deliberately disorientating electric storm that takes a
certain amount of pleasure in battering the dance floor like a force ten gale. Plastik snare rolls dominate the breakdowns and whip-crack percussion prolong the audio beatings being dished out on
this ‘next generation’ acid-techno.

Klein adds some extra bounce to the raw, pounding beats on “Eureka“, creating a cavernous backdrop that transports you back to the heyday of E-Werk. Then, it’s all aboard the night train as the sounds
gradually morph into some kind of demonic locomotive, hissing and spitting out fire and smoke as it cuts a path through the darkness, hurtling full throttle into the abyss where at- mospheric tempo
changes to the main motif add an extra dimension of mayhem to proceedings.

Warning! Like a surfer waiting for the seventh wave you either rise to the occasion, get on top of these tracks and ride them ecstatically to the shore or you’re gonna find yourself crushed by the relentless

Without a doubt 2019 was the most successful year for Thomas Hoffknecht and 2020 will even get better for this handsome gangsta! 

His tracks got played all over the world and with "Relax" and "Voices In My Head" he delivered two of the most hyped tracks on KD RAW which stayed in the Beatport charts for months! 

Thomas turns "Banause" into a hypnotizing techno rumbler and gives the track his typical darker trademark.


Petter B released loads of massive techno bangers in the past, and it was only a matter of time to get him on board to remix the bosses! 
While Thomas is adding more darkness to „Banause", Petter is bringing the groove and gives "Figure" more drive and lightness.

Jordan and Thomas aka Duo Lane are 2 brothers from other mothers, who decided to team up to play and produce electronic music together.
Their sets, podcasts and productions are the results of 2 different musical minds coming together in order to tell a story and take the audience on a journey.
Over the years their style has changed a lot but the main theme has always been moving bass lines that flirt with rhythmic percussions in combination with hypnotic melodies. For them it’s all about the balance between dark & light, good & evil, yin & yang.

Tronic labels' head honcho, Christian Smith, returns to Tronic for his first single of the year. Fresh after his recent hit on Drumcode's A-Sides, he delivered two tracks that resemble his production style and music plays in his sets. 'Phazon' named after the famous sound system of the legendary New York club, Twilo, focuses on one main melody and forward driving energy. 'I called this track Phazon, because while I was producing it I incorporated an old school style melody and imagined how amazing it would have sounded on the insane Phazon system at Twilo in NYC. 'Hallucinate' is another adrenaline bomb, using analog rave sirens and a hypnotic female voice. This EP has been tested at many gigs before the global lockdown to great reactions.
