Kastil's interest in music is directly nourished by the rise of electronic
music in the northern area of the country at the end of the 90s, which coincides with his adolescence during which he will begin his apprenticeship as a techno DJ at first.

His passion for sound design, mixing and professional production has driven him in recent years to create a characteristic sound of his own that he captures both in his productions and in his DJ or Live sets, and which has been recognized by the international scene of artists and clubs placing Kastil among one of the leading exponents of current international avant-garde techno, playing in some of the most
respected clubs like Berghain, Tresor or Elysia. His live performances have been praised for their innovative approach improvising with modular synthesizers and their ability to push the boundaries of the genre.

Kastil's trajectory has been one of constant evolution, at the beginning of the 20s, he continues to develop his project and refine his sound and gaining reputation by the international music community as a mastering & mixing engineer, working from his
studio refining the sound for some crucial labels in the shadows, and collaborating with other artists on projects such as "No Spiritual Surrender" or "Yelling Meltdown”.

Here is the recording of my improv live set at Tresor.Berlin (OFFICIAL) last weekend. It was an amazing experience again with such a powerful crowd.

Want to say a huge thanks to Tresor's lovely crew for make me feel at home again, and to all the friends and dancers who sweated in the dungeon with me!

This kind of live setup with two drum machines, a modular synth and effects makes me improvise on the fly, something risky and unexpected sometimes, with human mistakes and unpolished raw mix, but really exciting at the same time, because forces me to improve my own skills and makes each show an exclusive piece with exciting moments.

It's hard to recreate the club energy at home, but I hope you enjoy this little gift!

Spanish producers J.C and Kastil have collaborated on new album 'No Spiritual Surrender', which came out on J.C's Cabrera imprint at the end of October. Split into two parts, the first one exploring the darker sides of techno, making it pretty clear why J.C is resident of Tresor, fits the dungeon perfectly, while part two offers up some more ambient/experimental soundscapes

Grown up in the heydays of techno, Mario Castillo quickly gained notoriety for his intense sets and fine skills behind three decks.
