A label’s role has changed into that of a full on curator, influencing current musical trends based on their selection of outputs. But it’s not a status that is easily achieved, by all means.
Moving at its own pace, ten years in the world of dance music come as a century in real life, as dancefloor trends fluctuate. In such a surrounding, creating timeless pieces is essential when maintaining a high calibre establishment. But thanks to platforms such as Soundcloud or the ever-pervasive social media channels, it’s easy to showcase tracks and kick off labels without needing the once coveted record deal. Nevertheless, record labels serve as beacons in a world where we’re inundated by more and more content.
More than just a release platform, labels are indispensable partners in artists’ careers as the one to curate only the best music, accompany it with according designs, as well as bringing in new marketing ideas or even music videos. Shir Khan’s Exploited label has been a true example of such a label, hand-picking new producers to showcase, nurturing them from early beginnings into popular household names.

John Monkman’s record kicks off with the anthemic “K.I.S.S. M.E. feat. Morgan Mackintosh”. An uncharacteristically uplifting track that combines a freestyle bassline with gated 80’s drum sounds and amazing vocals by Morgan Mackintosh… 
B1 Jessica is a very special track, the descending organ riff, almost an acid house motif gives it an anthemic quality. The “You and Me” vocal offers just as much hook as it needs to be. 
B2 is a late night sleaze for the well-tuned dancefloor or the perfect track to help the crowd find its footing during the opening hour. The entire seven minutes ooze with polished future-house bass and the tracks being championed by top tier talent worldwide. Disco lasers and vocal snippets douse the track with a modern sheen we’ve heard in works from seasoned house vets, but John Monkman concoct his own chart-topping take on his debut.

We are proud to bring to you this epic organic EP called Aura from Jackie Komutatsu including 2 beautiful interpretations from Darksidevinyl and Acado.

'An aura is a collection of electro-magnetic energies of varying densities which are emanating from the physical, vital, etheric, mental, emotional and spiritual bodies.'

Jackie Komutatsu created 2 versions of his track both of them a journey into deep, tribal and organic deep tech orientated sound.

The orginal mix opens up with street noises at an African market and sets the stage for the track's intrinsic sound FX. A deep powerful kick, horn FX and multiple layers of percussive elements as well as a powerful vocals are introduced. Slowely the track starts to build up getting its drive from an open HH and dub Fx, claps and a beautiful oriental melody. Beat, melody, percussion and vocals are carefully intertwined and progress throughout the track in a beautiful symbiosis. The perfect set opener for your organic deep tech set or to kick off your mystic afterhour.

The second version of Jackie Komutatsu is an amazing dub version of the original track, concentrating more on the essential strong kick and on those amazing dub sounds, Aura features.

Darksidevinyl's interpretation of Aura is a very powerful melodic techno track offering a masterful composition by implementing his signature sound of percussive precision and the creation of multiple strong synths and melodies that progress throughout the track. He kicks it off very subtle with a strong kick and leading sound FX. A moving bass synth progression leads the way accompanied by subtle shakers, percussive elements and dub sound FX to the tracks first break. African vocal chants and FX as well as risers build the track up to its second part, where the track finds its groove. The grand finale is introduced by an implementation of a dramatic violin orchestra and very poweful layered synths. This track is perfect for your peak time melodic techno set. A poweful and unique remix.

The second interpretation comes from Acado and is a downtempo remix, focusing on the organic and spiritual elements of the track. Acado starts out with a powerful kick, snare combination and shakers setting the groove for their remix. Vocals, chants and arabic flute as well as an electric guitar are combined to produce a powerful interplay of the different elements. A groovy bassline drives the track forward. The break builds up slowely with the accentuation of multiple sound Fx and vocals elements and synth basslines. A beautiful, mesmerizing but also very strong work of art, made to make you get into your groove. Perfect to open your organic downtempo, deep house or even progressive set.

‘Attention’ stands for a diverse and unique sound within contemporary electronic music. Sames’ Debut Album means to reflect upon his first year after living in Berlin, the people he has collaborated with and the shift in his music that took place after a health related incident here in Berlin.
