The album is filled with surprises, seamlessly transitioning from acid infected vibes and catchy electronic pop to avant-garde electro cuts. But this is "The Mixtape", a 45 min energetic and deep dive into essential Electro and Detroit Techno. Next up at Edwin Music channel is Berlin-based producer and DJ @benediktfrey and his close friend @menqui with whom he co-runs the label R.i.O.

For EDWIN MUSIC CHANNEL, he joined forces with his friend Menqui, who is overseeing the administration for the R.i.O. label, is part of the Berlin-based Muting The Noise Record Store and Distribution crew, runs a radio show for Cashmere Radio and plays regular in all those small, but delicate Berlin bars and little dancefloor venues. Together they prepared an epic mix, created live and direct in Menqui’s living room, featuring all sorts of music from pop, Trip-Hop, and Hip-hop to free-tripping electronic grooves. q. pls introduce yourself:

Hey :) I am Ahmad Qatramiz, a Syrian-French artist based in Paris. Grew up in Syria, then France and I am a passionate person about life, nature, science, music, art and all things in between. 


q. is there a story behind the mix?

There’s no specific story behind the mix, apart that it depicts the music that I’ve been passionate about the last weeks. The tracks that are present are the deep sounds that enchant my ears and soul when I am chilling, and relaxing. It’s built around tracks, unreleased and released, of mine. There are multiple tracks of the same artists as well, and it’s in some way presenting my respect and admiration for these artists for deeply inspiring me.


q. what’s the best way to enjoy your mix?

On a bike ride (although it’s not the safest), or by the water somewhere in the woods :) 


q. describe a favourite object in your living room…

My formica wooden table, I don’t have it anymore because I moved out of my place and am currently living for a limited time at parent’s again, but I miss it so much. It was home for me. Very simple and lovely feeling.


q. are you working on any projects right now (music or not music)?

Absolutely, I am building a new label with friends called Sensory Cells. It’s based around sensory exploration of the subjective of each artist around specific topics. It will be an audio - visual - zine label, sharing scientific topics around senses either in their sociological aspect or physiological one. More to come very soon. It will be showcasing new microscopic art I’ve been developing lately.
Also, I am working on my second LP, which I think will come by a succession of 2-3 EPs on Sensory Cells before forming the LP. Stay tuned :)
