Like a fast car ride or a scene from an 80s teen movie, "Resonate" is a dream in forward motion. It harkens back to "Friday I'm in Love" but with more heart, hope, and clarity. 

Resonate is Kat and the Hurricane's third and final single from The Sorry EP, which will be available on all digital platforms Friday, June 18th.

Queer Midwest synth-rockers Kat and the Hurricane share high-energy confessional, “Caffeine & Alcohol,” a lyrically and musically provocative track confronting the growing pains of cycle-breaking, (mal)adaptive coping, and religious trauma. Vocalist Benjamin Rose prayerfully wrestles with existential dilemmas amidst an intoxicating onrush of pulsating bass synths, punk-inspired drums, and the band’s signature vocal interplay. Kat and the Hurricane’s push towards a bolder pop-punk/rock sound and greater emotional depth - something at the same time raw and polished, fresh and relatable, uninhibited yet controlled - defines their evolution as songwriters and signals more experimentation in the band’s future.

Based in Madison, Wisconsin, Kat and the Hurricane is an all-queer and trans synth rock/indie-pop trio of lead singer/guitarist Kat Rhapsody (they/them), keyboardist/vocalist Benjamin Rose (they/them), and drummer Alex Nelson (they/them). The band has made waves in the Midwest since 2017 thanks to their energetic live shows, strong sense of community, and genre-defying songwriting. In the last year, they have appeared at several regional and national festivals, completed a regional and a national tour, released a deluxe album (of their 2020 breakout Libra), released singles “Libra - Radio Edit,” and “On My Way Back,” and received the coveted Artist of The Year award from the Madison Area Music Association.
