Heralding from Cornwall amongst other places, his journeys led him to Southampton, where his long term love affair with Drum & Bass began to flourish. He quickly established himself as a purveyor of the darker, technically orientated sound of the genre and became a familiar sight at events and parties, where he honed his DJ skills to an impressive level.

An assured master behind the decks, Katanga has rubbed shoulders with the top names in Drum & Bass, playing alongside respected DJs and Producers, including Cause 4 Concern, DJ Trace, Marcus Intalex, Optical, Vicious Circle, Break, EBK, Dom & Roland, Danny Wheeler, Inside Info and many more.

Along came Dubstep, and with Katanga’s dedication to deep basslines and moody atmospherics, it was only a matter of time before he took to the emerging genre.

Like any DJ with a passion for music, it was inevitable that Katanga would turn his hand to production in a bid to craft his own sonic signature, teaming up with Fluid to produce While It Lasts, which featured as the title track for MD1MP3002 on Mode One Recordings.
