Expanded Radio Research Unit is an independent radio program dedicated to sound experimentation and the exploration of radio as an artistic and cultural space. The program moves between music, spoken word, performance, and hybrid sonic practices, questioning the very boundaries of radio as a medium and offering a reflection on sound as a tool for imagination, connection, and transformation.

Expanded Radio Research Unit considers radio as an acoustic and social ecosystem: a space where cultures, aesthetics, and transmission practices meet. Each episode becomes a listening laboratory where sound is at the center of a research process that spans geographical territories, artistic languages, and symbolic dimensions.

The aim is to create bridges between different spaces and contexts, connecting voices, stories, and sonic forms that challenge the conventions of traditional radio communication. In this perspective, radio becomes a performative and communal medium, capable of activating imaginary soundscapes and giving voice to artistic practices that are often marginal or non-codified.

Expanded Radio Research Unit is therefore not just a program to listen to, but an experience to immerse in: an acoustic-curatorial proposal that invites the listener to rediscover radio as a critical and sensitive space.

Conceived and curated by Katatonic Silentio, Expanded Radio Research Unit is a monthly meeting at Imbarchino Del Valentino and is streamed on RBL Torino.

o•rbyss aims to help soothe the queer spectrum and focus on the well-being of the community. Queer DJs are invited to submit a mix to showcase an alternative side to their music library outside of a rave and take us on a meditative journey. ✨

Notes on the mix:
“The starting point of this sonic and travelling mix was to blend several records I’ve been collecting. The intro features an interlude by my friend, Swedish folk musician Sara Parkman, where the strings of her violin sound like whispers from the deep forests. Combined with my all-time favourites, Boards of Canada, The Köln Concert, and another true friend and inspiration, Nevadeelay, with her charismatic soundscapes, the mix unfolds through textures and subliminal messages that bounce between atmospheres, like a transition from forest to ocean. The wise voice of Toni Morrison, along with another sampled voice, guides this mixed and spiritual sound journey.”

From Caracas to Berlin to Copenhagen, they’ve been shaking dance floors with a groove that hits like a slap on the ass—and yes, you’ll beg for another. A core member of Berlin’s SWEAT collective and co-daddy of Copenhagen’s Bash is Back, Dgeral is building spaces that are unapologetically trans-forward, deeply queer, and always hot. Dgeral’s sound is a steamy blend of old-school house, techno, and Latin percussion—equal parts sex, sweat, and soul.

Anta Doma’s music was the result of a collaboration between Jeune Walker and Edith for Sketchy Lines Records, fusing the work of two producers and DJs based in Lille and Brussels. After several placements on various compilations and two auto-releases over the past year and a half, their music transcribe break, dubstep and experimental influences into a percussive club music tinted by deep atmospheres.
