Most of us are still in the ‘transition’ period when going back to the dance floor and partying. After more than a year, it feels surreal being surrounded by friends and strangers, sharing the energy of the music, and welcoming the Sun during the after hours. The mix we are excited to present to you today comes from Horkheimer, the co-curator of The Live in Robert Johnson record label (https://soundcloud.com/live-at-robert-johnson)and founder of KLINIKA (https://soundcloud.com/klinikamusik). 
It is a perfect soundtrack for the interim state we are in right now and reminiscent of the beginning of the club night when DJ slowly prepares the crowd for the marathon ahead. The art of warm-up DJ is almost gone and a skill that takes years to master. 

During this 70min, Horkheimer manages to masterfully create a warm-up set ‘sampler’ and takes a listener for quite a journey which slowly unfolds from leftfield electronica to depths of dub techno and closing this chapter with marvelous track ‘Swallowing Tubes’ by Robert Dietz, which is coming out soon on LARJ.

Rising Sun is the production alias of Steffen Laschinski, a producer and multiple record label curator from Berlin. Since discovering his music last year we've become enchanted by his productions and record label Kristofferson Kristofferson. In our interview Steffen discusses his musical heritage, from exploring electronic music after the Berlin wall fell to Basic Channel and sampling music. Steffen also discusses his various record labels and his affection for the 7" vinyl format. His mix features music from Galcher Lustwerk, Levon Vincent, Red Planet, Chez Damier, DJ QU, STL and Reggie Dokes.

ZeeZout Co-Orientations, a brand new collaborative project between ZeeZout, our regular artists and upcoming talent. 

We’ve invited one of our all time favorite guests to kick off these new mix series in honour of our 10th anniversary. ZeeZout Co-Orientations 1, a ten year revival mix by none other than Optimo!

This high quality energetic mix is exactly the way we know and love Jonnie and Keith. Jonnie begins the mix and lays it up to Keith who plays an all Dutch music set. A trip through the history of Dutch electronic dance music. One hour filled with ravey sounds, heavy snares, dancefloor desire and piano strings. Recognised for their dynamic and eclectic sound, Kate skillfully weaves together techno, house, and electro, infused with a distinctive flair of funk. With each set, they push boundaries, ensuring that every performance is a celebration of rhythm and community.

A former resident DJ for the legendary House of Mince and 4our crews, they have also made their mark on a multitude of Sydney events, including Control, Loose Ends, Club77, Undisclosed, Dunj, Subsonic Festival and numerous other gatherings. Their contributions to the 40th Mardi Gras after party, along with sharing the stage with renowned artists such as Paula Temple, Sharelle, Helena Hauff, Nene H, K-Hand, DJ Sprinkles, Freddy K, and Luke Slater and more, underscore their reputation as a key player in the scene.
