A new piece for me: Morpheus by Rebecca Clarke. Pianist Emma Hadfeild suggested this piece for us to perform. It's a lovely piece about the Greek god of sleep and dreams. ... Performed here at The Experiment (a swing dancing event), in the Outer Banks (4x4 area) of NC.

Kate Hedin, a freelance violist in the Boston area, holds a Bachelor of Music degree from The Cleveland Institute of Music and a Masters of Music from Peabody Conservatory. Her primary teachers include Jeffery Irvine, Vicky Chiang, Lynne Ramsey, Mannuel Diaz, and Paul Murphy.  From an early age, Ms. Hedin's aptitude granted her much notice, including being selected to perform on Public Radio International's show "From the Top" at the age of 17. However, it was her passion for chamber music which led her to pursue further dedication to this faction of the classical music world, resulting in such awards as the K.H. Logan Chamber Music away from the Encore School for Strings and two-year Quarter-Finalist in the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition. Throughout her musical study, Kate has had the honor of performing in such venues as Lincoln Center, Cleveland's Severance Hall, DC/MD's Strathmore, and Atlanta's Spivey Hall. Currently, Ms. Hedin resides and performs in the Washington DC area, and when she is not playing in the classical music realm, she often takes her viola to the stage with rock band, Cobalt & The Hired Guns.
