With previous records on Mango Alley and Palea Musik amongst others the gifted producer now brings us two breathtaking records. Both ‘Underwater’ and ‘Clouds’ are built around a delightful piano melody which enhance the pulsating bass line and impactful synths stabs. To top it off ‘Underwater’ adds Ben Haydie’s authentic voice which complement the record perfectly. This EP is exactly what listeners need to groove the night away.

An artist with a rich musical history, Michael Ritter returns to his Grey Bar Hotel imprint with the 4-track "Yawa Raf" EP.

An accomplished musician and celebrated DJ, Michael Ritter finds himself at the vanguard of the Progressive House and Melodic Techno scene. A regular performer around the clubs of his
Berlin home since the age of 15, a period spent as a student in Barcelona saw a residency at the "Ethniko" beach club. Translating meticulously crafted sets and impressive track selection into virtuoso production technique, Ritter's debut for Price Incorrect in early 2019 quickly led to music signed for the likes of Stellar Black, YOMO Records and Polyptych. Moreover, "Le Chat
Bleu" for Particles was another notable highlight in June 2021.

Returning to his immaculately curated, Grey Bar Hotel, the title track is an elegantly imaginedpiece that builds in easy fashion as deep kick and rolling percussive groove vie with sparkling,
discordant motifs, that modulate to produce a subtly detuned soundscape. A simple bassline groove provides low end gravitas while a filtered vocal phrase waxes and wanes with
intermittent ease, repeating a mantra that provides a play on words for the "Yawa Raf" title.
"Barfuss" continues with a deep penetrating kick while ticking hats and fizzing percussion add dancefloor urgency. A gently pulsating bassline adds weight while a hypnotic motif repeats across the mid-range, infused intermittently with white noise. Evolving over its 7-minute timeframe a delicate piano sequence emerges at the mid-point, full of melancholy tenderness as it reveals itself fully at the stripped back, 'barefoot' breakdown. Hitting its stride once more in the second half, rhythm and melody combine once more in impressive fashion.

That means: go to bed and wake up with only music in your head. About the mix, oh... a bit difficult to write about. I mean its a studio mix, so its different from live mixes which I'm performing in the clubs, so usually a bit slower and more focus on storytelling than clubbing/peak time. Having shared the decks with everyone from Cubicolor to Martin Roth, and having a debut EP on Bedrock earlier this year, Canada's juSt b is swiftly becoming a name too hard to ignore. Her debut release on Balance delivers an exceptionally cerebral track that will sit flush in many sets. Also featured are four quality remixes that take in everything from deep techno, to breaks and more…

The deep beat on 'Light Sweeper' is undeniable with its mysterious energy. Glacial synths sweep the top end while being punctured by pondering piano stabs. There is bipolar nature to the production: warm and enveloping in the lows yet cold and wintry in the highs. It's a steady rhythm intent on intoxicating you.

The @audioglider remix reconstitutes the original into a thick, almost Amen breaks like direction. The synths are blown up to an optimal size and layered into a melodic sequence, keeping the original mystery. The breakdown is progressive house bliss, melancholy without being saccharine, before crashing back into the rhythm with added vocal by juSt b and soaring strings.

@jameswelsh's deep techno take is filled with percolating percussive hits and melodic arps weaving in and out of each other with total abandon. Featuring a considerably bigger kick, this is one to kickstart the main room.

The @mattrmusic remix starts off minimal with a deep meta physical engine, a hulking rhythm that slowly moves forward. Two separate breakdowns introduce a rising melody soaked in emotion, and the latter explodes into a 4/4 pattern that will sound divine on a dusty festival dancefloor.

If you're after the perfect opening track, look no further than the elegant remix from @ev3rsun. With its delightful opening 2 minute sequence, it is one part ambient and one part secret waiting to be told. It breaks into a gentle rhythm that sets the mood for what's to follow.
