Kobi and I have known each other well before we had ever met; over those epic Deep Dish '90's sessions at the legendary Haoman 17 club in Tel Aviv. While we shared a deep love of dance music, his trajectory veered into LA nightclub operation, promotion and ultimately, his ode to the seemingly perfect venue, Sound Nightclub. I still remember the tour he and Craig Pettigrew gave me before they opened the doors. It was - and is - beautiful.

Over the past decade, with each visit, I watched as Kobi tweaked, fine-tuned. revamped, and upgraded endless times - never missing the slightest detail - to ensure that gave their crowd and the numerous top-tier artists who've graced that booth, the perfect nightclub experience. From the layout...to sound, production and staff, Kobi nailed it; it's why Sound is on a very short list of venues I'd be willing to do an open to close set.

So a very happy 10yr anniversary Sound Nightclub and congrats to my brother Kobi; hope you all enjoy my 6hr journey from last month.

This year I felt the calling to play something a little different to my “usual“ sound. With everything going on in the world It was really about raising the vibration. And also to use the opportunity to move out of my comfort zone as an artist - literally shaking things up a bit. So it’s faster, more housey. The heavy rain started 5 Minutes before my set and made the beginning a little chaotic and the booth and everybody pretty wet. So very grateful most of you just stayed. Thank you! I know it was a LOT of water in those 20min. I was very nervous , even more in the chaos of the weather. The last days leading up to the show , my nerves made me seriously questioned my decision but I followed my gut to go through with it. Instead of listening to my head just telling fear stories. As playing this big events always feels a bit like a dream afterwards, I took my time to revisit and relisten to it. But now here it is. 150min of 126bpm high vibration sounds. I hope you enjoy it as much as I had playing it. Thank you to everybody who came along for the ride. Stay save out there. I love you.

KaterCast 01 - Sven Dohse - Kiosk Edition

This mix from @stevebug was made in anticipation of the 2018 Cityfox Odyssey NYE & NYD 2018 event.

Steve Bug's brilliance is in his knack for extracting the seductive side of house music. Here in his Foxcast, he thoughtfully employs tracks with the classic sounds of house music (organs, alluring vocals, acid vibes) to spectacular effect, achieving that desirable sexy groove throughout its entirety. The latter half of the mix picks up to a faster pace, Bug putting forth intelligent tech-house tracks that really stand a cut above the rest.

Steve Bug, a longstanding and venerated DJ and producer of the underground electronic music scene, has furnished for us with this truly exceptional Foxcast. Germany's champion of minimal house, Bug has a twenty-six-year career and a successful imprint under his belt. Poker Flat has been around for almost two decades and boasts 396 releases. It is constantly evolving and serving as a launching pad for fresh talent including most recently, Tim Englehardt.

About:  
For release number 43, Kiosk ID brings together desert-born pathos and psychedelic sound design. Meeting somewhere between the Nevada desert and the European festival circuit, Temple Tears and bīsu deliver a scintillating, groove-driven three-tracker tinged with acid and ethnic undercurrents. 

On ‘Addiction,’ Temple Tears delivers a radiant Melodic House cut driven by compact drum structures and brightly blazing synth contortions. Artfully oscillating between brooding, mechanical, and beautifully emotive, Temple Tears’ strobing synth patterns invoke a sense of beatific fragility—glints of light in a darkly churning groove machine. 

‘Temple Kiss’ is an eclectic amalgamation of Temple Tears and bīsu’s aesthetics: plucky and organic on the surface, massive and sub-heavy below, and supercharged by a wild streak of acid, Temple Kiss unfolds high-octane groove structures, subtle ethnic hues, and huge, blown-out acid eruptions. The result is a supercollision of genres—inventive, raw, and powerfully physical. 

bīsu closes with ‘Hear Me,’ a hypnotic, sawtooth-laden seance suspended across fields of mangled pads that gradually transform into radiant clouds of otherworldly aether. Throaty incantations, blossoming strings, and commanding lead patterns bloom across the frequency spectrum like creeping hallucinogens. The result is both haunting and euphoric, a modulated blend of grit and transcendence. 

Across two solo contributions and a collab, Temple Kiss delivers three beautiful renditions of its creators’ artistic DNA—darkly throbbing, brightly transcendent, and beautifully fused into a hypnotic desert totem made for the deepest reaches of the playa.
