I thought I'd give this song ago as I absolutely adore Jason Robert Brown's compositions and this is one of my favourites of his. In fact the entire score for TLFY is fantastic and I was torn between doing this song, See I'm Smiling and A Part of That.

This a song that I absolutely love from The Little Mermaid II and it's a duet between Ariel and her daughter, Melody.

For A Moment - The Little Mermaid II

In honour of this sad day (August 24th i.e. Newsies is closing), I decided to try and give this song a go. I've always found it hard-going because it's quite fast paced and the note at the end is a difficult one, so I hope you can forgive me for it not sounding great. Plus, I don't claim to be any Kara Lindsay, Caitlyn Caughell, Laurie Veldheer, Molly Jobe or Liana Hunt, who all completely OWN this song. But I've tried :)

I'm so incredibly sad that Newsies is closing today. This show means more than you could ever imagine to me. Not only is it an inspirational story about the underdogs taking on the big guys, but it gave me a new family. I have made so many friendships with people all over the world because of Newsies, and for that reason I will be forever grateful to all the cast and creatives who put this show together and made it possible. I am so appreciative for being able to see this show live and I hope so many more people will get to in the future with the US Tour and (hopefully) and transfer to London's West End. Newsies will never truly be gone.

Watch What Happens - Newsies

I was having a Laura Osnes day and I couldn't get over how beautiful she sang this song so I thought I'd give it a go. Obviously I'm no where near as talented as the wonderful Laura though. You should go listen to her sing this song like right now!

Hopelessly Devoted To You - Grease

So I'm a huge Starkid and this is one of my favourite songs from a Starkid production. Dylan Saunders has a voice made of gold.

Kick It Up A Notch (acoustic) - Starship from Starkid Productions

I'm not even going to deny it, I loved this movie when I was younger (*whispers* and still do. Don't judge me).  I think the stage version of the score for this musical is so much better than the movie though. I also messed the lyrics up at one point haha oops. Oh, and in the stage show, this song is more of a duet between Gabriella and Troy.

When There Was Me And You - High School Musical

I listened to this cast recording for my first time the other day. I had this expectation that it was going to be absolutely terrible and it turns out that I was wrong. I mean it's not fantastic or anything, but it's not bad either. There are a few really lovely songs on it. And a few not so great. But this is one of them that I really quite liked, amongst others.

Oh and those parts of the song where it sounds I have no idea what I'm singing...well that would be because I really don't have a clue what I'm singing. I'd barely heard the song before I decided to record this which was probably a silly move, but hey-ho :)

One Perfect Moment - Bring It On

I figured the chords out by ear so they may not be entirely correct, but they work pretty well. If anyone makes any covers I'd love to hear them. Have fun singing!

All That Matters - Finding Neverland

I had the privilege of seeing this show when I went to New York City last July and it was one of the most outrageous and witty shows I've ever seen. I think it's difficult to make a story about a serial killer funny, but they managed to do it.
Whilst I find a lot of the score to be 'forgettable' it's still quite great. Sibella's patter song is one of my favourites and this is me giving it a go.

So I went to see 'In The Heights' the other week in London and it was an exceedingly fun show. This song really stuck out to me so here is my attempt at it.

Newsies holds a special place in my heart as it was my very first Broadway musical. Katherine's character is especially very important to me and this show means the world to me.
