In einer dunklen Winternacht liefert Katharsia den Soundtrack zu einer bittersüßen Geschichte, die ihre Zuhörer*innen mit Hilfe eines exzentrischen Minimalismus mitten hinein in die Selbstvergessenheit zieht und in einem getriebenen, kompromiss- und schnörkellosen Groove mündet. Es bleiben 5 Stunden und 53 Minuten melancholischen Lächelns und unermüdlichen Tanzens.

Katharsia captivates her dance partners with an unmistakable deep and progressive sound from the very first beat. Using minimalist and eccentric elements and an unforgiving groove, the DJ creates a state of ecstatic self-forgetfulness each time, causing her audience to dance as if there were no tomorrow.

When she's not out raving, playing gigs all over southern Germany, or curating events herself, she is nationally successful in promoting diversity and awareness within the electronic scene, particularly through her FLINTA* and BIPoC DJ workshop series, WOMANSPLAINING.

//What does your Music mean to you?//
Music is my vehicle to feel, to process and to let go. It reminds me that I‘m alive, evokes memories engraved into my mind and heart and reveals new worlds of never-heard soundscapes.

//Where do you take your inspiration from?//
I‘m inspired by unexpected performances, endless digging sessions, jamming, movie soundtracks, concerts and every place, time or person that makes me feel, jump and run.

//What needs to change within the scene in your opinion?//
Change has already begun but I would love to see an increase of visible awareness concepts at events and a perceptible enhancement of the diversification of line-ups. I integrate this vision into every event that I‘m a part of hosting and everybody feels immediately the unmistakeable atmosphere created by freedom and variety.
