When lockdown began and I began panicking about how on earth I was going to practice 'properly' at home in this tiny flat, I decided to take the plunge and buy the TC Helicon VoiceLive 3, a piece of kit I had been thinking about for ages, and make this a lockdown project that might save morale and sanity. Here is one of the spontaneous little experiments that have emerged as I get to know the beast, fiddling around with the several hundred preset vocal effects, the manifold possibilities of individual effects (such as harmony and hardtune) and the loop function. The text was chosen at random and is taken from Canto IX of Wallace Stevens's 'Notes toward a Supreme Fiction'.
