I have been writing and playing music for over 30 years, and I love it. My songs come from my heart and they express what I am feeling. I look back over my music and can see what was going on in my world. Basically my songs are the evolution of my life and growth. Each song has meaning to that period in my life. 
I had a cycling accident about 8 months ago, and I broke a couple of my fingers. I was unable to play my guitar. It took months to heal and when I could play again I was overjoyed. I have such appreciation for this adversity as it gave me an opportunity to feel like I had just started playing again, I have had such fun rediscovering myself as an artist and reconnecting to my music.
