Uncharted Waters

Hi, my name is Kathy Brown and I am the owner of Noteworthy Vocal Studio in Waterville Maine, but I started performing professionally when I was only 10 years old. And with over 40 years of performance experience, and 20 years of teaching experience, I KNOW how to mine, and develop talent.

I am a classically trained singer and am so grateful for the training I’ve received. The payoffs have been numerous. State and Regional awards, open doors to performing both here at home and abroad. And I’ve been privileged to create and direct performing and visual arts camps for the underserved (The Seed School from DC and the Summer Dreams program) out of Boston. Finally, and second only to performing, is my great love for training singers, but none of these things would have been possible without my formal training.

That said, I am a bit of a hybrid. Yes, I’m classically trained, but that was not my only musical influence growing up. Dad was a jazz and blues singer, and guitarist, so there was always a musical potpourri filling up the rooms of our house. Everything from Classical, Pop, Broadway, and Country, to, of course, Jazz and Blues. Is it any wonder that I desire to provide my students with the same opportunity I had growing up?
