Gimme A Break Records have proudly announced their first release of 2024, teaming up with London-based producer An Avrin to deliver his “Spelunkerer” EP, a collection of mind-boggling leftfield-club productions accompanied by an equally spectacular remix from Leeds-based Stolen Velour. With previous releases on Scuffed Recordings, Slippery Sounds and Erbium Records, An Avrin has developed an unmistakably unique production style characterised by clean sampling, intricate detail, heavy bass and contorting rhythms. Alongside his highly-acclaimed label releases, An Avrin has also garnered substantial attention from the underground club scene through his self-releases and edits, with his flip of Darude’s “Sandstorm” dominating the summer DJ circuit in 2023.

 Following a deceptively innocent introduction, “Conduit” descends into a raucous leftfield take on the Breakbeat / UKG crossover style that has dominated the UK’s underground club scene in recent times.

Gimme A Break Records have proudly announced their first release of 2024, teaming up with London-based producer An Avrin to deliver his “Spelunkerer” EP, a collection of mind-boggling leftfield-club productions accompanied by an equally spectacular remix from Leeds-based Stolen Velour. With previous releases on Scuffed Recordings, Slippery Sounds and Erbium Records, An Avrin has developed an unmistakably unique production style characterised by clean sampling, intricate detail, heavy bass and contorting rhythms. Alongside his highly-acclaimed label releases, An Avrin has also garnered substantial attention from the underground club scene through his self-releases and edits, with his flip of Darude’s “Sandstorm” dominating the summer DJ circuit in 2023.

An Avrin once again showcases his inventive production on GABD014. “Cobbert Webb” kickstarts the EP with a monstrous collision of rolling breakbeats and growling basslines, interspersed with Baile-influenced rhythms which only add to the track’s dramatic tension. An Avrin firmly puts his stamp on the modern Electro sound via the EP’s title-track, swiftly followed by the eclectic “Bup” which fuses Techno and Electro drum programming with Grime vocal samples. Following a deceptively innocent introduction, “Conduit” descends into a raucous leftfield take on the Breakbeat / UKG crossover style that has dominated the UK’s underground club scene in recent times. Stolen Velour closes out GABD014 with a spectacular remix of the EP’s title-track. In line with An Avrin’s own disregard for genre boundaries, the Leeds-based producer fuses UK Funky rhythms with Grime bass patches to perfectly complement the diverse sonic palette demonstrated across the EP.

Based out of Seville, Spain, Clare Durant & Hartta are one of the freshest collaborations to emerge in the scene, launching London based record label Oddities’ debut release.

Their “Photoshoot” EP  encapsulates all things odd and wonderful, flowing effortlessly through cerebral 4x4, zany breakbeat and glitchy UK bass. This varied 3 tracker attacks sound systems universally and demonstrates the diversity of their production arsenal. 

Founder of the club night and label Bleach & Moan, Clare Durant began her DJing journey in 2023, supporting the likes of DJ MELL G, Nikki Nair, Nite Fleit and more.. As Dead Trax head honcho and member of the group Sabasonik, Hartta boasts releases on imprints such as Banoffee Pies Records, 3 Feet Deep and Outhouse Sounds amongst others.

Their debut collaborative EP is set to release on 7th June, 2024 via Oddities Bandcamp and across all major platforms.
